RE: UAE VISA-ON-ARRIVAL FOR SOUTH AFRICANS

Because this UAE Visa-on-Arrival concession has only just been announced 2 days ago, we would like to make our clients aware of the following:

➡️PLEASE NOTE:
• As this is a newly introduced Visa-on-Arrival facility, it may take some time before global Airline Check-in Systems and Immigration procedures are fully updated worldwide.

• Although you may qualify under the published requirements, DOV Travel cannot guarantee that an airline will allow boarding or that Immigration Officials will grant entry into the UAE.
The final decision always rests with the Airline at Check-in and the UAE Immigration Officer upon arrival.

Before booking your flights, we strongly recommend that you:

1. Confirm with your Airline that you will be accepted for travel using the new Visa-on-Arrival concession.

2. Confirm with your local airport or Border Authorities (where applicable) that they are aware of the new UAE Entry-requirements.

3. Ensure you carry your valid South African Passport and your original valid Residence Permit issued by one of the qualifying countries.

➡️ If you have any uncertainty or would simply prefer complete peace of mind, DOV Travel can still assist you with obtaining a standard UAE "Paper" Tourist Visa before you travel.

🟥 IMPORTANT:

NEW UAE 14 / 60 DAY VISA-ON-ARRIVAL FOR SOUTH AFRICANS.

There seems to be some confusion regarding the recent UAE announcement.

Please note that the newly-announced UAE Visa-on-Arrival is NOT available to ALL South African Passport Holders

❌ Being a South African citizen or holding a South African Passport does NOT automatically qualify you for a UAE Visa-on-Arrival.

To qualify, you must meet BOTH of the following requirements:

✅ Be a South African citizen AND
✅ Hold a valid Residence Permit (Residency Visa) issued by one of these countries below:

• 🇺🇸 USA
• 🇬🇧 United Kingdom
• 🇨🇦 Canada
• 🇦🇺 Australia
• 🇳🇿 New Zealand
• 🇯🇵 Japan
• 🇰🇷 South Korea
• 🇸🇬 Singapore
• 🇪🇺 Any EU / Schengen country

In simple terms:
➡️ If you are a South African who is living and working legally in one of the above countries and hold a valid Residence Permit from that country, you may qualify for the UAE free 14 / 60 Day Visa-on-Arrival.

➡️ If you are living in South Africa and do NOT hold one of the above Residence Permits, you will still require a UAE “Paper” Tourist Visa before travelling to the UAE.

⚠️ Please also note:
The 60-day Visa-on-Arrival is a SINGLE ENTRY Visa and allows a maximum stay of 60 days.

❌ It is NOT a MULTIPLE ENTRY Visa.

Example:
❌ You can NOT enter the UAE for 20 days, leave, return later for another 10 days, leave again, and then return for another 30 days to make up a total of 60 days.
Once you exit the UAE, the 60 Day Visa is considered used in accordance with its conditions.

Please make sure you understand the requirements before booking flights and accommodation.

The UAE Authorities may publish additional clarifications or implementation-guidelines, so travelers should always verify the latest requirements before departure, please.

🇦🇪 🇦🇪 🇦🇪 I am appealing to our clients and all travelers currently in the UAE, to PLEASE take the time and read this with attention. 🇦🇪 🇦🇪 🇦🇪

1️⃣ WHAT UAE IMMIGRATION ACTUALLY ANNOUNCED:
According to the notice reported by UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security and reported by Khaleej Times:
Because of the regional conflict and airspace closures, UAE immigration temporarily decided:

✅ Visitors who overstayed because they could not fly out will NOT be fined
PROVIDED they are leaving the UAE or regularizing their visa status.
In other words, the DUBAI Immigration is showing flexibility because flights were cancelled.

2️⃣ What DOV TRAVEL is trying to communicate with our clients, who are currently in overstay:

SITUATION A: Client EXITS the UAE
If the person exits the UAE, immigration will not charge the overstay fine.
✔ Overstay fine waived at the airport.

SITUATION B: Client Applies For A Visa Extension
If the client applies for an inside-country extension, immigration also waives the overstay fine up to when the Extension was issued.
✔ Clients still pay the Visa Extension Fee
This is not a fine, it is the cost of a new 30 Day INSIDE-COUNTRY EXTENSION

SITATION C: 🔴 Client Does Nothing 🔴
If the person:
• ❌ Does not leave the UAE, and
• ❌ Does not apply for an Inside-country Extension
🔴THE SYSTEM WILL TREAT THEM AS A NORMAL OVERSTAYER. 🔴
➡️ Fines will eventually apply.
That is why we are WARNING our clients about overstay.
Please note that we are not FORCING you to extend, but we are legally obliged to inform you of the consequences, should you ignore our communications or that of other agents offering the same service.

3️⃣ Why visa-holders are debating this:
The general public is misunderstanding the announcement.
They think:
❌ “Immigration said there are NO fines, SO I CAN STAY FOR FREE, YAYYY!” ❌
But the reality is:
🚫 Immigration did NOT give free extra stay.
They only waived the overstay fine caused by flight disruptions.

The visitor still must either:
🟡 1. Leave the UAE
OR
🟡 2. Apply for an Inside-country Extension, even if they are already in overstay.

✅ Why DOV Travel is ADVISING the public and specifically our clients, to LEGALIZE THEIR STAY:
Because if a person:
🔴 Stays with an Expired Visa
🔴 Without extension
🔴 And without proof of travel disruption
The Immigration System could show their Visa-information as:
⛔ Overstay violation
⛔ Possible Absconding Flag in the system.
Agents are merely trying to avoid that risk.

5️⃣ SUMMARY - THE SIMPLE EXPLANATION TO UAE TOURIST VISA HOLDERS:
Due to regional Flight disruptions, UAE Immigration has temporarily waived overstay fines for visitors who were unable to leave the country on time.

However, visitors must still REGULARIZE their status by either:
🟡 1. Exit / Leave the UAE
OR
🟡 2. Apply for an Inside-country Extension, even if they are already in overstay.
🟢 THE WAIVER REMOVES THE PENALTY, but it DOES NOT GRANT FREE ADDITIONAL DAYS ON YOUR VISA.

✅ No fine when exiting
✅ No fine when applying for extension
❗ But remaining in the UAE without action may still result in penalties later

➡️ My honest opinion as someone who works with UAE visas on a daily basis:
This announcement was badly communicated, and many agents across Dubai are currently having the exact same confusion.

Dubai Airports has confirmed that a limited resumption of operations will begin this evening, 2 March, with a small number of flights permitted to operate from Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC).

Travelers are advised not to proceed to DXB or DWC unless they have been contacted directly by their airline with a confirmed Departure Time.
