The Battle of Karbala ⚔️ is one of the most significant events in Islamic history. It took place on the 10th of Muharram, 61 AH (680 CE), in the land of Karbala.

🔻After the passing of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, leadership of the Muslim community continued through the Caliphs. Years later, when Yazid ibn Muawiyah became ruler, he demanded allegiance from Husayn ibn Ali, the beloved grandson of the Prophet ﷺ.

Imam Husayn (RA) 🤍 refused to pledge allegiance because he believed it would compromise the principles of justice, truth, and righteousness taught by Islam. Many people from Kufa invited him to come and lead them, so he set out with his family and companions.

However, before reaching Kufa, Husayn (RA) and his small group were surrounded by a much larger army near Karbala. They were denied access to water from the Euphrates River for several days. Despite severe thirst and hardship, Imam Husayn (RA) and his companions remained steadfast in their faith.

🕌 On the 10th of Muharram, known as Ashura, a battle took place. Imam Husayn (RA), along with many members of his family and loyal companions, was martyred. Among those martyred were his sons, relatives, and companions who stood for truth and justice.

Dua for the Islamic New Year (Hijri New Year)✨

🔸Arabic: اللَّهُمَّ أَدْخِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْأَمْنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ، وَالسَّلَامَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ، وَرِضْوَانٍ مِنَ الرَّحْمٰنِ، وَجِوَارٍ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ

🔸Transliteration: Allahumma adkhilhu 'alayna bil-amni wal-iman, was-salamati wal-Islam, wa ridwanim minar-Rahman, wa jiwarim minash-shaytan.

🔸Meaning: "O Allah, bring this (year) upon us with security and faith, safety and Islam, with Your pleasure, O Most Merciful, and with protection from Shaytan."

🔸Explanation: This beautiful supplication asks Allah ﷻ to bless the coming year with:
Iman (faith) and steadfastness in religion.
Peace, safety, and well-being in our lives.
The pleasure of Allah (Ridwan), which is the greatest success.
Protection from Shaytan and all forms of evil and misguidance.

🌙 As the new Hijri year begins, may Allah fill our hearts with Iman, our lives with peace, and our days with His mercy and guidance. May He protect us from all evil and grant us His pleasure in this world and the Hereafter. Ameen. 🤲

Battle of Karbala is one of the most significant events in Islamic history. It took place on the 10th of Muharram, 61 AH (10 October 680 CE), in the city of Karbala.

What Happened?
After the death of Muawiyah I, his son Yazid ibn Muawiyah became ruler and demanded allegiance from Husayn ibn Ali, the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Imam Husayn (RA) refused to pledge allegiance because he believed that leadership should uphold justice, righteousness, and Islamic principles. He traveled with his family and companions toward Kufa, but they were intercepted and surrounded in Karbala.

The Tragedy of Karbala☝🏻
Imam Husayn (RA), his family members, and companions were denied access to water from the Euphrates River for several days.
On the 10th of Muharram, known as Ashura, a battle took place.

Imam Husayn (RA) and many of his companions were martyred.

The women and children of his household suffered immense hardship after the battle.

Lessons from Karbala🌍
Standing for truth and justice even when facing overwhelming odds.
Patience (Sabr) during trials and difficulties.
Sacrifice for the sake of Allah and for protecting the values of Islam.
Courage and steadfastness in the face of oppression.
Faith and trust in Allah (Tawakkul) under the most difficult circumstances.
