Your aircraft choice should begin with the journeys you actually fly.

Regional GCC meetings, visits to East Africa and longer flights towards South Asia or the Eastern Mediterranean can create different requirements.

Consider passenger numbers, baggage, airport suitability, time away from base and expected utilisation.

These details help shape both the aircraft choice and its management plan.

ASM Air works with owners to develop management arrangements around their usage, priorities and budget.

Planning a private jet itinerary across several Saudi cities?

Saudi Arabia’s opening of domestic flights to eligible foreign on-demand charter operators has expanded the possibilities for private aviation.

The operating permissions still need careful review. An international arrival and a domestic charter sector involve different requirements.

Before confirming the itinerary, check the operator’s authorisation and the approvals needed for each sector.

Discuss your operational requirements with ASM Air.

A familiar route still deserves a fresh operational review.

Satellite navigation interference, including jamming and spoofing, is a consideration in parts of the Middle East and neighbouring European airspace.

Operators should review current notices and guidance, brief crews and follow approved procedures.

For owners, the practical takeaway is to allow time for the operations team to reassess the journey as conditions change.

ASM Air combines aircraft management with trip support coordination.

Your aircraft’s technical records tell an essential story.

They help establish what maintenance has been completed, which components are installed and what becomes due next.

For aircraft operating across several countries, organised records also support continuity between technical teams.

Three useful questions for your next management review:
Are the records complete?
Are they current?
Can they be retrieved when needed?

ASM Air supports technical records oversight as part of aircraft management.

Who is tracking what becomes due next on your aircraft?

CAMO—Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation—oversees maintenance planning, applicable airworthiness requirements and technical records.

The maintenance organisation performs the work. Continuing airworthiness management coordinates the requirements and follow-up.

For owners, this provides a clearer view of upcoming maintenance and its effect on flying plans.

Flying between the GCC and Africa? Aircraft support belongs in the travel plan.

Alongside the route and schedule, owners should consider access to approved maintenance, parts and technical assistance if an unexpected defect affects the journey.

Early coordination helps clarify the available support and contingency arrangements.

ASM Air supports aircraft owners with aircraft management, maintenance coordination and trip support.

The Middle East and Africa business jet market is projected to grow from around USD 1.54 billion to USD 2.31 billion by 2031.

Most commentary on that figure focuses on aircraft deliveries. The operational consequences get less attention, and they are arguably more relevant to anyone already flying. Maintenance capacity becomes harder to secure. Experienced crew are in greater demand. Lead times lengthen across most parts of the operation.

None of this is a problem in itself. It does mean that arrangements which worked comfortably when the region was quieter — informal supplier relationships, reactive scheduling, planning measured in weeks rather than months — come under more strain than they used to.

We work across aircraft management, continuing airworthiness and private charter, which tends to make those connections visible a little earlier than they otherwise would be. If any of the topics from the past few weeks are relevant to your own operation, we are always glad to talk them through.

Aviation insurance is often renewed, filed, and then left alone until it is needed.

The details that matter at the point of a claim are usually the ones that have quietly moved in the meantime:

- Whether the agreed hull value still reflects the aircraft’s condition after a refurbishment
- Whether liability limits match where the aircraft now flies
- Whether all crew arrangements are covered, including contract crew
- Whether the policy contemplates charter operations, if the aircraft has since been placed on an AOC
- Whether territorial limits still align with the routes actually being flown

An aircraft’s risk profile changes as its use changes, and policies do not update themselves.

A short annual review against current operations is considerably easier to carry out in advance than to resolve in the middle of a claim.

A maintenance forecast built twelve months ahead, rather than twelve weeks, gives an owner a noticeably different set of options.

It shows:

- When each scheduled input falls due by hours, cycles and calendar
- Which items can reasonably be grouped into a single visit instead of three separate ones
- Where the aircraft is likely to be at that point, and which facilities have capacity
- A rough cost for the downtime, so it can be positioned against a quieter stretch in the owner’s own calendar

Without that view, maintenance tends to arrive as an interruption rather than as a plan.

Hangar slots across the region are being booked further ahead each year as the fleet grows, which has made forward planning less of a refinement and more of a practical necessity.

A charter from Dubai to a secondary airfield in Central Asia looks, from the client’s side, like a single confirmation message.

Behind it, the work usually includes:
- Overflight and landing permits for each authority along the route
- Slot/PPR coordination at both ends (and any tech stops)
- Ground handling appointed and briefed
- Fuel arranged with contingency for the return
- Crew duty times checked against the full itinerary
- Customs and documentation confirmed

Review of weather, NOTAMs, and alternates

Each task is straightforward on its own. The difficulty is that they are interdependent and time‑sensitive, so a delay in one frequently affects several others.

This is usually what separates one charter operation from another — not the aircraft, which is often the same aircraft.
