Katoomba Falls & Scenic World

Glad that the locals insisted we do scenic world to ride the world's steepest railway down into the valley. Thought it was a bit steep (pun not intended) for a $64pp ticket but being told were pretty well guaranteed to see a lyrebird down the bottom in the rainforest walk helped sweeten the deal. We saw not one but two lyrebirds! And of course finding out there was a cablecar AND skyrail giving views on views on views. So definitely felt worth the cost.

Sadly no view of the three sisters as it was shrouded in cloud, but the tradeoff was the ✨️atmosphere✨️. The mountain mists were stunning.

Apparently this guy turned 40 earlier this year…. Definitely no signs of growing up yet 🤪

Hargraves Lookout is known as THE sunset spot in the Blue Mountains and it sure didn't dissappoint.

This one is not on the national park side so you can see a couple of farms & houses in the valley. We could have taken our dog Banksi but we're glad we didn't because beyond the fenced lookout point there is an unofficial trail that runs further along the ridge which does have a few tight points and requires a bit of climning over rocks and goat trekking with a steep drop on the side, the kind of trail I wouldn't have wanted to risk taking a clumsy bull terrier on. Worth the walk for the views and to find the cool overhanging rocks.

From this lookout you can look left over to Katoomba and the Hydro Majestic complex on the side of the mountain.

Tucked away near Blackheath in the Blue Mountains, Anvil Rock Lookout feels like one of those hidden spots not everyone knows about. The views are unreal, stretching right across the Grose Valley, with clear views out to Mount Banks and Mount Hay. It’s the kind of place where you can just stop for a minute and take it all in—the scale, the quiet, and how beautiful the Blue Mountains really are, without the crowds you usually get at the more popular lookouts.

Who knew Australia had landscapes like these, one of our favourite lookouts of the blue mountains.

Life update! We have unfortunately decided to stop traveling.

Just kidding! The reason we’re so quiet on here lately is that we’re hard at work back in our normal jobs. Gotta fund the travels! Camo’s back driving trucks and Drea is back in the chair tattooing artwork on her clients. We’re also living separately to make our work commutes both easier and more affordable. These are the sacrifices we’ve made so we can get back on the road quicker, something a lot of people don’t see or realise. And it’s been tough!

Our hybrid caravan sold, and we purchased our new caravan! However we don’t take delivery on it for a couple of months. We can’t wait to show you our new travel setup 😍 Can you have a guess what caravan we got?

The GMC will also be getting a few upgrades as well this year. In between all this we’ve been trying to get away on weekends but it’s been a really busy start to the year catching up with our family, friends and all the get-togethers that we missed out on while we were away.
