🌼 Meet Kate – Our Newest Daisy! 🌼
We’re very happy to introduce Kate, the newest driver to join our Driving Miss Daisy Burleigh Heads team! 🚙💙
For Kate, being a Daisy is about much more than driving. She loves the conversations she has with our clients and hearing about their journeys through life — the highs and lows, achievements and challenges.
“You can learn so much by just taking the time to listen to someone.”
When she’s not out and about with our clients, Kate loves escaping the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast. You’ll most likely find her camping in her little Pod caravan, enjoying the peace and simplicity of the countryside. 🏕️
A few fun facts about Kate: she starts the day with a coffee ☕, switches to tea in the afternoon 🫖, and ABBA’s “SOS” always puts her in a good mood because it reminds her of her mum. Her favourite piece of advice is:
“Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.”
What really stood out to us was what our motto, “We’re family when family can’t be there”™, means to Kate:
“It’s about stepping up to help where needed — not replacing family, but being there alongside busy families. When someone starts to lose their independence, a Daisy can gently help fill that gap with support, dependence and understanding.”
We think that caring outlook fits beautifully with what being a Daisy is all about. 🌼
Welcome to the team, Kate! We’re delighted to have you as part of Driving Miss Daisy Burleigh Heads. 💙🚙🌼

🌼 Building our knowledge to better support our Daisy community

We’re pleased to share that Chris has completed the Person-Centered Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) Online Certificate Course — 20 hours of self-directed learning focused on person-centered emergency preparedness.

Why is this important to us?

Many of the people we support are older Australians, people living with disability, or people who may need some extra assistance when the unexpected happens.

Emergencies and disruptions can affect everyone differently. Having a plan that considers a person’s individual needs, routines, support network and transport requirements can make a real difference.

At Driving Miss Daisy Burleigh Heads, we believe our role goes beyond getting someone from A to B. We get to know our clients, understand what matters to them and provide the reassurance of familiar, caring support.

Completing the P-CEP course is another way we’re building our knowledge so we can better support our clients and their families — not just on the journey, but as part of their wider support network. 💙🌼

More than transport. It’s about care, connection and being there when it matters.

Over the last month, we have had the pleasure of helping our clients (from interstate) escape the routine of doctors appointments after a tough 12 months.
On Friday, for our final trip, I suggested a drive to Tambourine Mountain (Gold Coasts Hahndorf??). A visit to the Tambourine Rainforest Skywalk, followed by a stroll along Gallery Way for fudge (must do), cuckoo clocks and lunch at George's Seafood.
If we can help you explore the Gold Coast or escape the routine contact us through here or call on 0429353512.
