Today is World Senior Citizens Day, a day that recognises and appreciates senior citizens for all their accomplishments and contributions to the community we live in today. Senior citizens are valued members of society, who have plenty of kind wisdom and experience to share with the younger generation.

They are often overlooked and undermined because of their fragile state, but they have played a huge role in history, either in our communities, the workforce, or in our daily households.

World Senior Citizens Day is a great opportunity to show them love and plenty of kindness in celebrating their golden age and their presence in our lives.

💙 Thank you, Cairns Disability Network!

What a fantastic day at the Cairns Disability Network Annual Expo 2026!

A huge thank you to the wonderful Cairns Disability Network team for putting together such a well-organised and welcoming event. It was fantastic to see so many local organisations, support providers, families, individuals and community members come together to share information, make connections and celebrate the wonderful disability community here in Cairns.

We were proud to be there representing Driving Miss Daisy Cairns Northern Beaches, meeting so many lovely people and having some great conversations about how companion and support driving services can help people stay connected, independent and active in their community.

Events like this are such an important part of bringing our community together, and the hard work that goes into organising them certainly doesn't go unnoticed.

👏 Well done to everyone involved in making the 2026 Expo such a success!
