Important update for AHEC 2023
For those of you who have followed & supported us since our inception, you would be aware that we like to keep everyone up to date, along with encouraging feedback and suggestions from our riders, we consider our communications with you to be important, hence this update.
Most of you are probably aware of the collapse of the AMA in the last few months, I (Greg Peterson) have spent my time since then communicating with the insurance industry and the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman to better understand the issue many businesses are facing in Australia.
If you’d like to have an understanding the issue yourself, please read this report released in 2021.
Please note, with the change of government, the review has been labelled as “out dated” and a second more recent report is going to be prepared for the current government.

Aside from gaining a better understanding of the current insurance issue, I have also been liaising with Motorcycling Australia, who have been very receptive and helpful.
From 2023 the Australian Hard Enduro Championship will affiliate with, be sanctioned by and run under the governance of Motorcycling Australia, along being recognised by the FIM
Working towards 2023 & beyond, we endeavour to create the best possible race series for our athletes regardless of their skill level, along with increasing the exposure of our great sport with live streaming from the pits, start/finish line and out on the tracks.
As many will know, running the series requires a huge crew of people, the vast majority who are volunteers, with a small crew required full-time.
Taking into account the series this year didn’t allow us to break even, the horrendous cost of fuel, the rising cost of estimates for services which I have recently been receiving, the extra cost of insurance, plus a change in operating procedures, we are forced to significantly lift our registration fees for 2023.
The registration fee per rider for 2023 will be $375 for the two days.
MA licence & membership fees are not included in the registration fee.
The rise in the entry fees is not something we want to do, it is an unfortunate necessity to keep the series running and to help secure its future, we trust you understand the complexities of & the necessity for the price rise and continue to support the platform that allows Hard Enduro to develop & grow on a national & state level.
