Road Safety

As a business we spend 90% of our time on the road this story hits home. Last year wasn't a great one for Queenslanders. Here is some stats-

"Queenslanders urged to drive safely after shocking road toll in 2024"

302 people lost their lives on Queensland roads in 2024, the worst year for road trauma in 15 years
The number of lives lost is 25 greater than in 2023 and 33 more than the five-year average.
Drivers are urged to stay safe on the roads, particularly for the remaining summer holiday period, when there is increased traffic.

So take the time in 2025 and be more aware of the hazards we face as road users.

CLOSING FOR THE HOLIDAYS

We will be closing to non-essential transport from 5pm Friday 20th of December and re-open 9am 6th of January.

We thank and hope all of our clients and work partners have a safe and Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all in 2025 with new years resolutions!

New car in the fleet

J-Lo's has bought in a new car to the fleet. With our other 2 cars starting to age we started the process of renewal with a Hyundai Santa Fe.

Very comfortable vehicle to keep our clients happy!

Have you ever thought of expanding to other towns in the Central Highlands?

✅️Yes, we definitely have and will be looking into more in the future. We currently have regular clients in Emerald, Gemfields and Capella.

1️⃣Firstly we need to research other towns in the Central Highlands to see if disability or aged care transport is needed.

2️⃣Secondly, we need to make sure the new employee's in those towns are trustworthy and fit within our business ideals.

If you live in towns around the Highlands that are struggling for disabilty and aged care transport please comment or PM us.

Especially long distance travel to specialists. We understand smaller towns do not have the access to specialists and need to travel to the bigger areas foe their medical appointments

Can we do private transfers for the general public?

Yes we can. Generally only longer distances and we have to book in advance. Each transfer will be unique so please call Jay on 0448 154 231 or PM us.

In the past we have transferred people from Kestrel Coal, Tieri, Blackwater, Clermont to the Emerald Airport.

What can we do for you?

For Ozcare and Ndis Clients

🚗General Transport- we get you from A to B and back. Phsyio, chemist, doctor, dentist, shops, events etc

🩺Medical Appointment support- if you are hard or hearing, need someone to take notes or would just like a friendly face with you

🫁Long Distance/Specialist appt- we regularly take clients from Central Highlands to places like Rockhampton, Mackay and Gladstone. We can also stay overnight.

🛒Everyday tasks- we can carry shopping bags, push trolleys, assist with access to community

👥️Companionship- were time permits we can join you for outings in the community

🩼Emergency pick-ups(regular clients only) if your at home sick or injured we can grab your click and collect, medication etc) We will only do this with clients we have had on board with us for a period of time due to our medication policy.

These are the basic week to week duties we can provide but if you have a request outside these please contact us. If we can't do it we will refer you to a support agency who can.

🔸️Please just be mindful we are usually booked a week or so in advance. Sometimes you can book with us on short notice. We also allocate 15mins buffers either side of most appointments to factor in travel to next client.

What ways can we assist the disability industry?

We collaborate closely with Yumba Bimbi Support Services via a referral system similar to Ozcare.

Our support encompasses transport, daily tasks, and select companionship services, regularly reaching Emerald, Capella, and the Gemfields. If you're affiliated with Yumba Bimbi, please request a referral for extra transport needs. Yumba Bimbi Support Services

Ndis and Aged Care transport/Limited support. Also some private transfers.
