When you’re researching your next caravan, you’ll see a lot about timber, aluminium and composite construction. But it’s important to look beyond just the materials.
Many Australian caravans built over the last few decades have used aluminium frames, which can provide strength, durability and resistance to water-related timber rot.
But what you really want to understand is how the whole caravan is built.
Look at the walls, roof, floor, insulation and framing, and how all of these components are engineered to work together.
Construction is also worth considering when setting your budget and thinking about the type of travel you plan to do.
