It’s been a while since I’ve spent a weekend behind the wheel and apparently I ordered a mixed bag 🍬

A couple of tyre changes 🛞, a car that ran over a tow hitch, one that met a tree 🌳, a burnt-out car to extract from an undercover car park 🔥, and a fuel pump casualty stuck in a multi-storey car park.

Plenty of problem solving and a good feed in between 🍜

Forgot how much I enjoy being out in the truck - might have to escape the office more often☀️

One week on, our thoughts remain with Evette Wallington’s family, friends, colleagues and everyone who knew and loved her.

Her loss has been felt far beyond one workplace. Across the towing industry, including by many who never had the opportunity to know Evette personally, there has been a real sense of sadness and reflection.

For those closest to her, a week is no time at all. We simply want them to know that people across our industry are still thinking of them.

This tragedy has also been a confronting reminder of something the wider community may not always see — towing and roadside work can be dangerous. Operators work around moving vehicles, heavy equipment, traffic, difficult environments and unpredictable situations at all hours of the day and night.

Behind every tow truck is a person with a family, friends and people waiting for them to come home.

As an industry, the most meaningful way we can honour those we lose is to keep looking out for one another, keep talking about safety, never become complacent about the risks of the work we do, and make getting home safely the priority every single time.

To Evette’s family, friends and colleagues — you remain in the thoughts of many, including people you may never meet.

Stay safe. Look after your mates. And come home.

🎉 IT’S OFFICIAL — 806! 🎉

This one feels pretty special.

Drive Assist has officially received Crash Towing Authorisation from DTMI — number 806.

We’ve put a huge amount of work into growing Drive Assist, building our capabilities and getting the company to this point, so being able to finally say we’re officially authorised for crash towing in WA is something we’re bloody proud of.

We’ve come a long way, there’s still plenty ahead of us, and we genuinely can’t wait to see where we take it from here.

MISSING PERSON

Please contact police immediately if you see a Mazda BT50 similar to the one pictured CC48DD.

Elderly male driver left home in southern Perth suburbs yesterday morning and has not returned.

Police are actively searching but please keep an eye out and share this post as his vehicle has been sighted all over metro.

His family thank everyone for their assistance.
