✈️Vietnam, here I come! 🇻🇳
I’m incredibly excited to be heading to Vietnam on a famil hosted by one of my favourite suppliers, Wide Eyed Tours.

This trip is so much more than a holiday. It’s an opportunity to learn, explore and experience Vietnam firsthand from the destinations and experiences to the accommodation, local culture and all the little details that can make a trip truly special.

As a travel advisor, experiencing a destination personally allows me to return with a much deeper understanding of what I’m recommending to my clients. I’ll be able to share genuine, first-hand insights and curate Vietnam itineraries that are tailored to different travel styles, interests and expectations.

I’m looking forward to coming home with plenty of inspiration, new knowledge and a suitcase full of ideas for my clients! 🌏✨

A huge thank you to Wide Eyed Tours for the opportunity, I can’t wait to see Vietnam through your eyes. 🇻🇳

🌙 KOH SAMUI AFTER DARK — THE ISLAND COMES ALIVE! 🌴✨
Koh Samui may be all about beautiful beaches and slow island days, but once the sun goes down, a very different side of the island comes to life!

🏮 First stop — the night markets.
Wandering through the markets after dark is an experience in itself. Colourful stalls, delicious street food, local crafts, souvenirs and plenty of opportunities to find something you didn't know you needed!

🔥 Then came the fire shows!
Watching performers dance and move with flaming props against the backdrop of the beach is one of those travel moments that is impossible to capture properly in a photo.

💃 And then… Diva's Cabaret!
Bright costumes, big personalities, music, dancing and plenty of laughs, an entertaining night out that shows another side of Koh Samui.

What I loved about Koh Samui was the variety. One minute you're barefoot on the beach, the next you're wandering through a buzzing night market, watching a fire show or enjoying an evening of entertainment.

For me, this is what soft adventure travel is all about, experiencing the destination, trying something different and creating memories beyond the usual sightseeing.

🌴FROM BIG CITY ENERGY TO ISLAND ESCAPE — KOH SAMUI
After the colour, chaos and energy of Bangkok, it was time to slow the pace and head south to Koh Samui.

And what better way to start an island escape than with a little adventure of our own?

First stop: Mad Sum Island.
Just a short boat ride from Koh Samui, Mad Sum is a tiny, quiet tropical island with white sand, turquoise water… and some very friendly locals.

The locals? Free-roaming pigs! Yes, you read that right.

These happy island residents wander along the beach, happily greeting visitors and posing for photos, although they are definitely more interested in snacks than selfies!

Sometimes the best travel experiences are the unexpected ones, the places you hadn't necessarily heard of, the experiences that make you laugh, and the moments where you simply stop and think, “How lucky am I to be here?” 🌴☀️

From big city adventures to tropical island escapes, Thailand really does have it all.

And this is exactly why I love creating journeys with a little soft adventure woven in, enough to get you out exploring, without sacrificing comfort or relaxation.

Part 4 - Bangkok:TEMPLES, PALACES & TUK TUK ADVENTURES
There are some days when you know you're experiencing the very essence of a destination, and exploring Bangkok's temples, palaces and streets by tuk tuk was definitely one of them.

We started with the grandeur of Bangkok's Grand Palace and temples, where gold-covered buildings, intricate mosaics and incredible architecture seem to appear around every corner.

And then… it was time to jump in a tuk tuk! 🛺

There is no better way to experience Bangkok's streets than whizzing through the traffic and watching the city unfold around you.

From ancient temples to bustling streets, quiet corners to colourful markets, Bangkok is a city of contrasts, and that's what makes exploring it so much fun.

History, culture, chaos and a little bit of adventure, all in one day. Sometimes adventure is simply getting out there, trying something different and seeing a destination from a different perspective.

If you're ready to experience Thailand beyond the resort, contact me and let's create your own Bangkok adventure.

Part 3 - BANGKOK: SHOPPING HEAVEN!
Calling all shoppers… Chatuchak Weekend Market is an experience in itself!

Imagine over 15,000 stalls (No that is not a typing error) spread across a huge maze of market lanes, selling everything from clothing and jewellery to artwork, homewares, handicrafts, souvenirs, food and just about anything else you can imagine.

You don't really “visit” Chatuchak. You wander, explore, bargain and discover. What I loved most was the atmosphere.
The colours.
The smells.
The sounds.
The endless little stalls tucked around corners.

That's one of the joys of travelling independently, allowing yourself time to wander without a plan and see where the day takes you.

💡 Tip 1: Wear comfortable shoes, take plenty of water and leave some room in your suitcase!

💡 Tip 2: If you see something you like buy it, there is no going back to find that stall later you literally get lost in the maze of stalls.

I love shopping, but even I was overwhelmed....don't say I didn't warn you! I have never experienced anything like it!

If you're looking for a Bangkok itinerary that combines culture, food, markets, shopping and a little soft adventure, contact me and I'll curate your perfect trip.

Part 2 - BANGKOK: A FOODIE'S PARADISE

If there's one thing Bangkok does exceptionally well, it's food!

From tiny street stalls serving up steaming bowls of noodles to colourful markets overflowing with tropical fruit, grilled seafood, fragrant curries and things I couldn't always identify but absolutely wanted to try… Bangkok is a feast for the senses.

And that's what I love about eating while travelling. It's not just about the meal.

It's the sizzling wok.
The aromas drifting down the street.
The vendor who has perfected one dish over decades.
The locals eating alongside you.
And that little moment of wondering… “What exactly am I about to eat?”

Bangkok makes it very easy to be adventurous with your tastebuds.

And sometimes the best meals aren't found in a fancy restaurant, they're found at a little roadside stall with a handful of tables.

My advice? Come hungry and be curious!

This is exactly what I mean when I talk about soft adventure travel, immersive experiences, local culture and plenty of opportunities to try something new.

If Bangkok's food scene is calling your name, contact me and let's create a Thailand adventure that tastes as good as it looks!

I'm currently in Thailand and this is the first of a 4-part “Bangkok through my eyes” Facebook series, with each post highlighting a different side of the city

Part 1 - BANGKOK: WHERE THE MARKET COMES TO YOU… AND THE TRAIN! 🚂

Our day began at the famous Maeklong Railway Market, a market quite literally built around an active railway line!

As the train approaches, the vendors quickly pull back their awnings and move their produce just enough to make way. Then, moments later, everything is back in place as if nothing happened.

It’s one of those travel experiences that you really have to see to believe!

From there, we headed to the floating markets, where the waterways become the roads and traditional long-tail boats are loaded with fresh fruit, food and local produce.

It was colourful, chaotic, fascinating, and exactly the kind of experience I love about travel. Not just seeing a destination… but experiencing it.

This is my kind of soft adventure, stepping outside the usual tourist trail without giving up comfort and convenience.

AI can plan your holiday… but who has your back when things go wrong? ✈️

AI is changing the way we travel. It can search destinations, compare options and even build an itinerary in seconds. And I’m all for using technology to make travel planning faster and easier.

But travel doesn’t always go to plan. Flights get cancelled. Connections are missed. Hotels lose bookings. Plans change at the last minute.

And when that happens, you don’t just need an answer from a screen. You need someone who can take ownership, make decisions, advocate for you and help find a solution.

That’s where the human side of travel really matters.

AI can suggest.
AI can compare.
AI can research.

But a travel advisor brings experience, judgement, relationships and advocacy, and most importantly, someone you can call when things don't go according to plan.

💡 The future of travel isn’t AI OR humans. It’s AI + human expertise.

I’ll happily use technology to work smarter and find better options for my clients. But I’ll always believe that the best journeys have a human behind them.

Because AI might help plan your adventure…But when the unexpected happens, you want a human in your corner. ❤️

If you’re ready to travel differently, with the freedom to explore and the confidence of having someone behind you, let’s talk about your next soft adventure.
