🌼 Meet Our Latest Daisy Car 🌼

Freshly dressed in her beautiful Driving Miss Daisy branding and ready to begin making a difference in our community. 💙💛

The Driving Miss Daisy journey began with a simple act of kindness. Founder Melanie “Mel” Harper regularly drove her elderly aunt to appointments, providing companionship, independence and the freedom to remain connected with her community.

Recognising that many others needed the same caring support, Mel launched Driving Miss Daisy in Havelock North, New Zealand, in 2009, with just one car and one franchise. Today, that beautiful vision continues to grow and change lives in communities around the world.

Our newest Daisy is also our wonderful people mover, comfortably seating up to eight people! This gives us even more flexibility to support families, small groups and clients enjoying activities and special outings together. 🚙🌼

As we welcome her to Driving Miss Daisy Ormeau, we are reminded that every Daisy represents so much more than transportation. She represents another helping hand, another friendly face and even more opportunities to support our clients wherever life needs to take them.

From medical appointments and day programs to shopping trips, group adventures, social outings and precious family moments, every journey is about providing safety, companionship, independence and genuine care.

We are incredibly proud to continue the vision Mel started and deeply grateful to every client, family, team member and community partner who has become part of our journey.

🌼 A Sweet Day at Milly’s Place with Daisy Angela 🌼

It was another fun-filled day at Milly’s Place Day Program, where our client Darien enjoyed getting creative in the kitchen and making delicious chocolate brownies! 🍫👨‍🍳

The fun began before they even arrived, with Daisy Angela joining him in singing his favourite Disney songs all the way to Milly’s Place. The concert continued on the journey home with some favourite Scooby-Doo songs! 🎶🚙

The big question is… who do you think sang them best—Daisy Angela or our superstar passenger Darien ? 😄🎤

These journeys are about so much more than getting from one place to another. They’re about sharing laughs, building confidence and making every part of the day enjoyable from the front door to the day program and safely home again. 💛🌼

🎨🐉 Shaylee’s Creativity Is Taking Flight! 🐉🎨

Tonight, I had the pleasure of taking Shaylee to mentoring for the first time.

We arrived a little early because she was excited to show me around and introduce me to the space. As the first person there, we had the opportunity to sit and chat with her two mentors. It was wonderful to see just how comfortable and confident Shaylee is becoming in this supportive environment. 💛

Shaylee was especially excited to show me the incredible dragon painting she has been working on. She has discovered a genuine love for painting and is now exploring the idea of creating an Instagram page to share her beautiful artwork with others.

Sometimes the most meaningful support is simply encouraging someone’s interests, celebrating their talents and helping them believe in what they can achieve.

Today I picked up our lovely client from her Airbnb, where she is currently staying and focusing on her recovery following an operation.

We travelled together to Medicross Coomera for an important review with her GP, ensuring she arrived safely, comfortably and without the added worry of arranging transport while using crutches. 💛

Recovery can take time, patience and courage. During these moments, having someone dependable beside you can make the journey feel a little easier.

At Driving Miss Daisy Ormeau, our support extends beyond simply getting you from one place to another. We’re here to provide reassurance, genuine companionship and practical assistance throughout your recovery journey from your front door, to your appointment and safely home again.

Zac proudly showed us his very first tattoo, which he had done over the weekend in loving memory of his beautiful 16-year-old cat, Bitty pronounced “Bitey” who sadly passed away in April. 🐾💛

Zac became so animated as he shared stories about Bitty and explained the special meaning behind his tattoo. The pride and love on his face were absolutely beautiful to see.

What a meaningful tribute to a much-loved companion who will always hold a special place in Zac’s heart. 🌼

Today we picked up one of our little passengers from the ECDP program at Coomera State School and safely accompanied him to his ophthalmology appointment at Gold Coast University Hospital. 🌼

We even had time to fit in a snack before going into the appointment after his morning session at his ECDP Kindy Program.

🌼 JENNY AND TED’S ADVENTURE DAY 🌼

Daisy Amanda took Jenny and Ted on a wonderful adventure to The Fox & Hounds Country Inn at Wongawalla what an interesting place it was!

We arrived before it opened, giving us plenty of time to explore, take photos and pose beside the vintage London bus, black taxi, red telephone box and even the old-fashioned stocks!

Once the doors opened, we were the only ones there, so we settled in at the bar. Jenny laughed and said it had been a very long time since she had sat at a bar and Ted looked quite comfortable there too! 🧸

There was so much history, character and quirky memorabilia to discover around every corner. It is certainly a unique place and definitely worth a visit!

Another memorable day filled with smiles, laughter, great company and a little adventure. 💛🌼
