Moss square, Unotawa, Hanno, Saitama Prefecture, JAPAN

埼玉県飯能の奥武蔵の山々で人気の「ウノタワ」
そこから山中林道へ下って行った先で見つけた圧倒的な苔場

まさかこんな身近に苔の名所があったなんて、感動しました
灯台下暗しですね

ただ、急勾配で道が分かりずらく、蚊が多くて大変でしたが

The unknown carpeted-like moss field close to "Unotawa" in Hannoh mountainous, Saitama prefecture. Hanno is one of the Metropolitan cities around Tokyo, takes about 60 minutes by train from Ikebukuro, however there are full of nature and a lot of hiking trails. Actually the Unotawa trail needs roughly 7 hours hike for a round trip from Nago village. Anyway I was very touched by full of moss, so stunning!

埼玉県飯能市、奥武蔵の山々にある「ウノタワ」

ウノタワとは、山の中に突如ポカッと開けたくぼ地で
古い伝説では山の神の化身「鵜」がこの地の沼に棲んでいて、その鵜を猟師が殺してしまい、沼が消えて苔場になったということ

季節外れの山桜が咲いているのかな、と思ったら
なんと枯れ葉が落ちずついたままの木でした

不思議なところでした

This is called "Unotawa", wooded and mossy hollow in the deep mountains in Hanno, Oku-Musashi mountanious area, Saitama prefecture, Japan. According to a legend, a cormorant("U" called in Japanese)—an incarnation of the mountain god—once inhabited a marsh here; a hunter killed that bird, causing the marsh to vanish and turn into a mossy area.

There was a tree covered in dead leaves like blooming Sakura cherry blossom besides the Unotawa depression. It's mysterious and stunning.

開業10周年を迎えた「ザ・プリンスギャラリー東京紀尾井町」

それを記念して、開業以来のパートナーの高級テディベアブランド「シュタイフ」のコラボ企画で、歴代イベントに登場したシュタイフたちと一緒に1日過ごせるステイプランが期間限定、1日1組限定で登場

相変わらずの東京の絶景とともに、テディベア好きには待望のステイプラン
すでに予約が続々入っているそうです

アニバーサリーケーキも少し試食させていただき、絶品でした！

The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho is one of the most luxoriy luxurious hotels in Tokyo. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of its opening, the "Gallery Anniversary Stay with Steiff" stay plan has been available for booking since August 10, limited to one group per day. Steiff is the world‘s most famous soft toy company and a premium teddy bear brand from Germany. Steiff and the hotel have been partners since the opening. A lof of teddy bears used in the past other events are gathered here together. The anniversary cake, including the plan, would be awsome. You must have fun staying with a lot of Steiff teddy bears besides the stunning Tokyo townscape.

Nozoriko Lake, Gunma prefecture, JAPAN

群馬県野反湖（のぞりこ）のノゾリキスゲの群生地を訪れました！

あいにくピークは過ぎていて終盤気味でしたが、ギリギリ間にあって良かった

ノゾリキスゲは終わりかけでしたが、
代わってヤナギランが満開に近い状態でした

そのほかにも高山植物がいっぱいあって、お花畑でした

「高山植物の女王」といわれるコマクサ群生地もありました
でも、今年はちょっと少ないそうです

Lake Nozori-ko, its dam-formed artificial lake, is located at an altitude of 1,513 meters in Joshin-Eetsu-kogen National Park, Gunma prefecture. In the mid July tons of Nozori Daylilies, yellow lily, had been in fulll bloom like a carpet. Unfortunately it was almost over when I visited in July 23th. However Yanagiran(fireweed) had been in full bloom instead. It was so stunning!

More than 300 alpine species thrive here, including daylilies, azaleas, and fireweed.

A colony of Dicentra peregrina, known as "the queen of alpine plants" in 7th photo, had been blooming as well.

Hotel New Otani Makuhari, Makuhari, Chiba prefecture, JAPAN

東京ベイにあるホテルニューオータニ幕張のサマーイベント
屋外プールの「Shell Pool」

今年のテーマは“PINK & GOLD”と“大人カワイイ”

南国リゾート風のアウトドアプールにピンクとゴールドのライトアップで、とてもゴージャスでした…

イベントに合わせて開発された“映える”ピンクグルメも
見た目だけじゃなく味も美味しくて、さすがホテルグルメ

というか、キラキラ女子のインフルエンサーさんたちがまぶしくて、
目のやり場に困ってしまいました

Hotel New Otani Makuhari is located beside Tokyo bay area in Makuhari, Chiba prefecture, 30 minutes train ride away from the heart of Tokyo. The theme of this summer is "PINK & GOLD" colored and "Otona-Kawaii(Adult with cutty)". So the outdoor pool named "Shell Pool" illuminated with pink and gold is so gorgeous and lovely. It makes us feel like Tropical-style resort. The event will be opened until Sep 22 2026. You can have fun the pink & gold food like hamburgers with a pink bun and a generous topping of cheese for this event as well. It looks so cute and tasty.

teamLab Borderless: MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM, Tokyo, JAPAN

東京麻布台にあるチームラボボーダレス

再オープンした展示作品・光の彫刻「Light Sculpture - Flow」で、
期間限定で開催の特別展「On the Asymmetry of the Universe / 宇宙の非対称性について」を鑑賞

画像6、7枚目は常設展示のもの

写真だとちょっと平面に見えますが、
実際はかなり立体的で、光線だけで立体感をかたちづくり、
画像1枚目は異世界に接続したサウロンの目みたいで圧巻でした

人物を入れていないので没入感が分かりにくいですが
とにかくさすがチームラボ、これ以外もとにかくすごかったです

teamLab Borderless is a world of artworks without boundaries, a museum without a map created by art collective teamLab, located in Mori Building Digital Art Museum, Azabudai, Tokyo, Japan.

To commemorate the reopening of the Light Sculpture - Flow artwork space, a special exhibition, "On the Asymmetry of the Universe", is being held until Oct 8 2026. This exhibition features two new series, Asymmetric Existence and Chromatic Existence.

Light Sculpture artworks are created three-dimensional forms using bunch of colorful light beams.

Moomin Valley Park, Hanno city, Saitama prefecture, JAPAN

埼玉県飯能のムーミンバレｰパーク

現在、メッツァビレッジでは雲海ミストが立ち込める「メッツァの森」
ムーミンバレーパークでは「ムーミン谷でみずあそび」

開催中！

訪れたときはちょうど雨だったので、図らずも雲海とマッチしてしっとり…

The Moomin Valley Park is a theme park about the Moomin characters created by Finnish author and artist Tove Jansson, located in about 40 kilometers northwest of Tokyo in Hannoh city, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. The theme park is the first one outside of Finland and offers visitors a look into the world of the author and her creation.

The early summer new event named "Playing in the water in Moomin valley" had been opened since July 2nd 2026. In addition, misty like a sea of clouds is hanging over all around the valley like the entrance of Metza village, main street and in front of the Moomin House. In the last photo, a special summer-limited shave ice topped with pinnapple gelée, slices of lemon.

Takakura Shrine, Ouchi-juku, Shimogo town, Fukushima prefecture, JAPAN

過去振り返りです

江戸の宿場町の風情を残す南会津下郷町の「大内宿（おおうちじゅく）」

その大内宿集落の氏神様で、通りから少し離れたところにある「高倉神社」

後白河天皇の第2皇子である以仁王（もちひとおう）を祀る神社で、毎年7月2日には以仁王を祀る伝統行事「大内宿半夏（はんげ）まつり」が開催されるそうです

白装束に黒烏帽子（えぼし）姿の村の男衆らが、神輿を中心に列を為し、家内安全、五穀豊穣を祈願し練り歩くそうです

とても風情のある古い神社でした

Takakura Shrine is located 5 minutes walk away from the main street of Ouchijuku village outside. The shrine is dedicated to Prince Mochihito-oh, who is the 2nd son of Emperor Go-Shirakawa in 12th century. Every June 2nd, the traditional festival for praying bountiful harvests and the safety and well-being of the families forever is held in Takakura Shrine. All the male residents are walking on the main street putting on the traditional kimono cloths with a traditional tall hat of Ebochi.

Ouchi-juku, Shimogo town, Fukushima prefecture, JAPAN

過去振り返りです

江戸の宿場町の風情を残す南会津下郷町の「大内宿（おおうちじゅく）」

昭和56年に国の重要伝統的建造物群保存地区に指定されて以来、「売らない・貸さない・壊さない」の住民憲章を作り、集落の人たちだけで維持保存・技術の継承を頑張っているそうです

まるで時代劇のセットのような日本昔話の世界がそのまんま広がってます

白川郷と同じで茅葺屋根の家屋が普通に住居であり、商売している人は兼店舗になってます

今年の冬に偶然訪れましたが、雪のない夏色の風景もまた風情あり

Ouchijuku（Ōuchi-juku）used to be one of the most important post towns along the Aizu-Nishi Kaido trade route, which connected Aizu( in Fukushima pref) with Nikko (in Tochigi pref) during the Edo Period about 200 years ago, lined houses with a roof of thatch for the sake of travellar's inns and restaurants.

The village has been designated as a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings and one of the most popular tourist attraction in Fukushima prefecture, located in Shimogo-machi town of the south Aizu region . So Ouchijuku residents established the strict residents' charter of "No sell, No rent, No damage" for being restored to look as it did in the Edo Period like passing on traditional thatch roof building, keeping unpaved main street, burying telephone and electricity wires. The residents is still living inside at the same time to run the business like souvenir shops, cafes and inns.

Ouchijuku was just like a world from a Japanese nostargic folktale. The landscape of its snow-capped thatch roof houses are the most popular and photogenic, but this fresh-green-colored landscape is stunning as well.

Aizu Sazaedo temple, Aizuwakamatsu city, Fukushima prefecture, JAPAN

過去振り返りです

世界にここだけしかないという、
会津若松市にある国指定重要文化財の「会津さざえ堂」

写真だけ見ると分かりずらいですが、
二重らせん構造の高さ16.5ｍの六角三層のお堂で
上りと下りが全く別通路、一方通行のためすれ違うことなくお参りできる稀有な構造

遺伝子DNAと同じ二重らせん構造らしく
そんな知識がまだない江戸時代の、しかもいっかいの僧が設計したというからスゴイ

想像以上に小さい建築物でしたが、
期待以上のミステリーな御堂でした

Aizu Sazaedo, built in 1796 on Mt. Iimori in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture, is a hexagonal three-story temple standing 16.5 meters tall. Its formal name is 'Entsu Sanso-do'. It was designed by Priest Ikudo of Shosoji Temple, which was located on Mt. Iimori at the time.

The super unique feature is the double helix slope like DNA model, with completely separate ascending and descending paths, enables many worshippers to safely visit without crossing paths. This rare architectural style was recognized for its uniqueness in architectural history and was designated as an Important Cultural Property in 1995.
