Website visits can tell you a lot about how your content is working.

In a recent client report, more than three-quarters of tracked website visits came from social media.

That’s a useful insight.

It shows that social media wasn’t just creating visibility. It was encouraging people to take the next step and learn more.

That next step matters.

Your website is where people can explore your offers, understand your services, read more about your experience, sign up for your newsletter or make an enquiry.

Social media can create awareness and interest.
Your website helps continue the journey.

And when both are working together, your marketing has a much stronger chance of turning interest into genuine enquiries over time.

Climb to the top of Sigiriya Rock Fortress and take in sweeping views across jungle and farmland in every direction. Along the way, pass ancient frescoes and the iconic lion’s paws carved into the stone. 🐘

It’s one of Sri Lanka’s most memorable and rewarding experiences.

A good travel marketing plan should make room for more than the big-ticket booking.

World cruises, luxury rail journeys and bucket-list expeditions absolutely deserve a place in your marketing.

They inspire people.
They showcase your expertise.
They remind existing clients what’s possible.

But some of your best client relationships may begin with something much smaller.

A simple flight.
A short getaway.
A family holiday.
An itinerary that feels just a little too complicated to book online.

That first enquiry may not be your biggest booking.
But it can be the start of a long-term client relationship.

And trust is often what leads to repeat business, referrals and larger trips over time.

That’s why it’s worth thinking about the full customer journey, not just the highest-value product.

Keep sharing the once-in-a-lifetime holidays. But also make space for the trips that help new clients take that first step with you.

Not every post needs to sell the biggest dream. Some posts are there to start the relationship.

Soneva Jani is set in the Maldives’ Noonu Atoll, surrounded by a vast private lagoon, overwater villas and endless shades of blue.

Spend your days swimming from your villa, gliding down waterslides into the lagoon, paddleboarding, turtle spotting or watching the night sky from a retractable roof. 🌊

This is the Maldives at its most relaxed, spacious and unforgettable.

Start your day before sunrise as Angkor Wat slowly emerges from the darkness, reflected in still water. Spend hours wandering through temples, corridors and carvings that tell centuries-old stories. 🌅

It’s a place that feels both vast and deeply personal at the same time.

It’s been just over 9 months since I launched Azure Travel Marketing. Time flies!

In that time, I’ve spoken with a lot of travel agents about marketing and what they feel they “should” be doing to stay visible.

Good travel marketing isn’t just about getting someone to notice you. It’s about what happens next.

Can they quickly understand what you specialise in and who you help?
Is your website building confidence?
Are you making it easy to enquire, sign up for your newsletter or keep hearing from you until they’re ready to book?

That’s where marketing becomes more than content.

If you’re comfortable showing your face on social media, great. It can help build familiarity. There are also plenty of other ways to build trust.

That trust can come through helpful advice, strong offers, destination knowledge, client stories, email marketing and a website that clearly explains how you help.

Visibility matters. But nurturing your audience is what helps turn interest into genuine enquiries over time.

I recently travelled through Sri Lanka with Walkers Tours Sri Lanka, and it reminded me how much difference a great local DMC can make.

I came across Walkers Tours while researching my own trip. It was my third visit to Sri Lanka, so I knew I wanted something a bit different: more focus on culture and wildlife, and the chance to visit places I hadn’t been before.

The itinerary they put together was exactly what I was hoping for. It had a great mix of ancient cities, temples, tea country, scenery, wildlife and time by the coast.

The real highlight, though, was our driver and guide, Nuwan.

His knowledge, care and love for Sri Lanka made the whole trip. One of my favourite moments was being invited to his family home for lunch and meeting his family.

For travel agents looking at Sri Lanka, I’d really recommend getting to know Walkers Tours as a local destination partner.

I could talk about Sri Lanka all day, so if you’d like to know more about Walkers Tours, want an introduction, or have any questions about my trip, send me a message or email.

✈️ Sri Lanka ETA Update

Travelling to Sri Lanka on an Australian passport? You’ll need an Electronic Travel Authorisation, also known as an ETA.

The good news is the ETA is currently free for Australian passport holders travelling for tourism, for stays of up to 30 days. Travellers should apply online before departure, as facilities to obtain an ETA on arrival are limited.

The free 30-day ETA applies to tourism purposes only and is not extendable. Entry and exit conditions can change at short notice, so always check the official Sri Lanka ETA website before travelling.
