Meet Zesty, the precious chlamydia patient at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.

Zesty is an example of the species’ plight as she is sadly suffering from conjunctivitis, a symptom of chlamydia.

Vet Nurse Jasmine is making sure Zesty has access to eucalyptus leaves while she is treated with antibiotics, receives her chlamydia vaccination, and recovers in Koala Rehab. It’s important that there’s enough food and gum varieties for Koalas like Zesty, so we need to keep planting trees.

Currumbin Wildlife Hospital patients receive fresh eucalyptus leaves from our fodder plantations which house around 38, 000 trees.

A single Koala can eat the leaves of up to 1,000 gum trees every year and constant harvesting means we need to keep planting more trees to feed Koalas.

This National Eucalypt Day (23rd of March) please donate trees!
