The Blue Mountains in all its rugged glory ⛰️
Consisting of the largest amount of walking tracks in Australia, the most difficult decision is choosing which ones to do!
These walks and lookouts are a little more on the easier side but still have the breathtaking views (which we love) and were a great taster to ease in to it 😊
- Giant Stairway/Honeymoon Bridge
- Three Sisters
- Hargraves lookout
- Katoomba Falls
- Govetts Leap lookout
So where does the name "Blue Mountains" come from? The oil in the eucalyptus leaves! When the sun is particularly hot, the temperature results in the oil being released from the leaves in almost a mist causing the entire Blue Mountains region to be covered in a blue haze, looking as if the mountains are blue themselves. Epic!
