What a week! 💚
Madi had the opportunity to take part in the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania Young Tourism Network Education Tour, travelling Victoria’s Great Southern Touring Route alongside an incredible group of tourism professionals from across Tasmania.
The route is travelled by thousands of visitors each year and provided the perfect opportunity to experience iconic attractions, accommodation providers, hospitality venues and major tourism infrastructure projects firsthand. Along the way, the group met with operators, hotel owners, tourism leaders and destination managers who generously shared their successes, challenges and insights into building thriving visitor economies.
One of the strongest themes throughout the tour was the power of collaboration. Great tourism experiences don't happen in isolation. They are built through strong partnerships, shared storytelling and a collective commitment to creating destinations people want to visit, stay longer in and recommend to others.
A huge thank you to TICT, Pennicott Wilderness Journeys, the tour hosts and all the operators who welcomed the group so openly. Madi returns home with new connections, fresh ideas and plenty of inspiration!
Tourism is ultimately about people, and this week was a wonderful reminder of that.
