Congrats Shannon Barry and team eight3 what a geat result it was also great to be apart of it well done onwards and upwards 👌

Wow what a killer night for our small family team 👍 So proud of the crew for giving me a great piece to go and race. Paul, Ash, Dave, Glen, Annette and awesome set up tips from Kenny helped us finish 6th in a top quality field. Over the moon to be up at the pointy end and racing against the guys I grew up watching....feels like a win! Pity Dad wasn't here to watch it, but he was busy in Sydney with WSS duties.

Our Signarama Melrose Park, Kwikwing Trans, Step into Life West Lakes, Sass Place Westfield Shopping Centre West Lakes, Blair Athol Auto Parts, Ulx110 Custom Blend Oil, Hoskins steering gear by Hoskins, Smartstone, Maxwill Race Engines, J&J Auto Racing car was on beat. Massive thank you to our sponsors and supporters we're extremely lucky to have people that are passionate about our sport and willing to assist in making our team reach each race!

Have to thank my Dad, Terry for putting so much time, effort and his hard earned money into the team. It's so appreciated and glad that we're moving in the right direction to justify it!

So we now plan for our next race meeting - Sat 10th Dec at Adelaide Motorsport Park for next round of the track championship. In the meantime however we'll be at Masters Home improvement store on Sunday 27th Nov with a car display from 10am-3pm. Come say hi and grab a sausage whilst you're at it. 😄

Great night out unfortunately for Team Eight3 wasn't a great result but a lot of positives to come out of the night onwards and upwards hope to see everyone next week at Adelaide Motorsport Park

Great night at the races supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation but just not the great results we were after!

On a warm 30 degree day with a strong northerly wind the track was always going to be a bit dry with plenty of action. Our Signarama Melrose Park, Kwikwing Trans, Blair Athol Auto Parts, Smartstone, Step into Life West Lakes, Sass Place, BK Racing TI Components, Scotty Hoskin from Hoskins Steering Gear, Ulx110 Custom Blend Oil, Aquaessence Australian Spring Water, Maxwill Racing Engines, J&J Auto Racing was set for a solid night.

The Team Eight crew tighten up the car by moving the right rear in towards the car and adding a softer shock to the right rear for extra drive. 3/4 of a lap into our first lap of qualifying we blew a fuel line effectively shutting the car down and ending our qualifying run. 😔

Having timed in 21st in our flight was all was going to make for a tough night with the Outlaws based format (1 heat, top 4 into the A Main event, everyone else to the B-Main).

Starting in 11th for heat 2 we moved forwards slightly before a spin put us back a few spots ending up 11th. Into the B-Main we go. Starting from 14th we got held up early but eventually got going before the rubber was laid down on the drying surface. Coming home in 8th spot in the B-Main wasn't what we had planned but to have the car more to our liking and moving forward is a positive step once again.

Massive thank you to our crew that put in a huge effort throughout the night - Ash, Paul, Dave, Glen, Wayne & Annette. Thank you to our caterer last night of all things food 😁 Stace, plus a big shout out to my Step into Life family that came along to enjoy the races.

Our next hit out will be this weekend for Opening Night at Adelaide Motorsport Park - Sat 5th Nov. Hope to see you there. 😄

Fantastic weekend results for Shannon Barry from Team Eight3 its great to see a small family racing team doing well. If you are interested in supporting them for the season let them know any extra support would go a long way. Once again well done boys 🖒

Team Eight3's first race meeting has been completed for the 2016/2017 season with a solid night in the books.

On Sat 8th Oct the team headed to Murray Machining and Sheds Speedway - Murray Bridge for the 1st Round of the Ulitmate Sprintcar Championship SA. 38 cars lined up to tackle the event which saw the cars broken into 3 groups for qualifying which would then seed the cars for the 6 heats (2 heat races per car) - fastest to the front for the first round of heats with it reversed for the second round of heats.

The Team Eight3 Signarama Melrose Park, Kwikwing Trans, J&J Auto Racing Maxwill Racing Engines car went out in the 3rd group of hot laps and qualifying, timing in 8th. Might have timed quicker if I didn't miss my line into turn 1 on both laps...but that's the way it rolls.

Qualifiying out of the way and we had 2 heats to accumulate points towards the main events. Starting 8th in heat 1 and 5th in heat 2 was going to be a difficult night but just had to go after it. Heat 1 the car was a little free on corner entry and didn't have enough side bite to be able to hit the high line like I would have liked but we managed to hold station finishing 8th. Heat 2 we had the car ripping around the top managing to chase down the leaders with a lap to go. With no way passed we settled for 3rd.

Both heats done we managed to locked directly into the A-Main event in 16th position. This was a huge accomplishment for our small family based team. We stuck with the rubber that we'd run all night long and went out looking to log more laps and get comfortable running high and low. Once under way we made a couple of passes moving forwards but after the first yellow light stopage the tyres sealed over and I couldn't get them back under me. At the end of the 30 laps A-Main we still managed a credible 11th position.

Really happy with how our first night out ended up. A solid start for the team and plenty to build on for the upcoming races. A huge thank you to our supporters - Kwikwing Trans, Signarama Melrose Park, Smartstone, J&J Auto Racing, Maxwill Racing Engines, Step into Life West Lakes, Hoskins Steering Gear, Sass Place, Aquaessence Australian Spring Water & BK Racing TI Components. These people make it a pleasure to go racing and have fun doing it and we can not thank them enough for their time and support.

Special shout out to Jamie Cobby and Kenny for your words of wisdom and knowledge. It's awesome that you can share what you've learnt with your many years experience - much appreciated and it made for a great night.

To our hard working Team Eight3 crew. Thank you for your time and efforts to have us up and running. Without you guys it simply wouldn't happen! To Paul Barry, Terry Barry, Tim O'Neill, Wayne Swansson, Glen Robertson, Annette Robertson, Dale Robertson and the bloke sitting in the airport waiting for the flight home Ash Owens you're all legends!

Next race meeting is on October 29th as we return to Murray Bridge for Ultimate Pink Night - supporting Breast Cancer. Come and join the team and say hello.
