For those asking why updates have stopped being posted to this page....
Most, if not all of the updates to this page were done by Rob.
After 3 weeks Rob & Mandy felt themselves out of sync with the touring group and they felt the dynamics were not working. As well as them affecting the balance of the group they felt the rest would have a more enjoyable time if they left. This was further reinforced after they felt they were abandoned on the way back from King's Canyon.
Rob gathered the group on Wednesday morning to advise their decision. He gave no other details regarding their decision to leave other than they felt out of sync with the group, they were not enjoying the trip as much as they felt they could, and that the group would likely function better without them. With that they left and there have been no page updates since.
No doubt the versions of where this all went wrong will range from one extreme to the other and the truth will be somewhere in between.
What was learned about travelling in a group as a result ?
* Communication is the most important item.
* Decision by committee does not work all the time, at some point someone has to put themselves forward as the leader.
* If there is group disharmony and every person doesn't consider how they may be part of the issue perhaps that is a problem in itself.
We hope you take some inspiration from the pictures and stories posted while it lasted. If it encourages just one person to go out and explore Australia it has been worthwhile.
