I had the honor of representing The Bahamas and Caribbean at The International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) North America/Europe Airport Issues Conference, held in Prague, Czech Republic, from October 4-6, 2026.

This premier forum brought together the most senior airport executives, government leaders, and aviation experts from both sides of the Atlantic to explore the future of global aviation, with a strategic focus on topics including greenfield airport development, geopolitical challenges, route development, digital transformation, ESG and sustainability, strategic partnerships and innovative development, among others.

Addressing the topic, “Winning Transatlantic Growth: The New Playbook for Air Service Development”, I shared the view that,
“Transatlantic growth is about convincing airlines to choose OUR Destinations on this side of the Atlantic amidst global aircrafts constraints, while adopting an inclusive strategy to de-risk with data, differentiate with experience, and deliver with partnership”.

As the first Board Member from the Caribbean Region and proud member of The International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE), I am privileged to be participating and speaking at the North America/Europe Airport Issues Conference, to be held in Prague, Czech Republic, from October 4-6, 2026, and hosted by Prague Airport.

This premier forum brings together airport executives, government leaders, and aviation experts from both sides of the Atlantic to explore the future of global aviation. The conference will focus on strategic topics including greenfield airport development, geopolitical challenges, military-civil cooperation, digital transformation, ESG and sustainability, and innovative infrastructure financing. The event provides a vital platform for strengthening U.S.–Europe collaboration and shaping the next era of aviation.

🏆🇧🇸 HISTORY MADE: Dr Kenneth Romer has become the first Bahamian to receive the Infrastructure Leadership MVP Award, placing The Bahamas in the regional spotlight for leadership in aviation and infrastructure development.

AVIATION: Last week, as Director of Aviation/DDG of Tourism, I was honored to return to the campus of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) as The Minister of Energy, Utilities and Aviation, The Honourable JoBeth Coleby-Davis, executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) alongside MTSU’s President Dr. Sidney McPhee (a proud Bahamian son).

This amended MOU with MTSU is aimed at strengthening collaboration and expanding the aviation sector, create training opportunities for existing and emerging aviation professionals, strengthen the institutional framework between The Department of Aviation, MTSU and The University of The Bahamas, as most importantly continue to position The Bahamas as the Regional Leader in Aviation.

The highlight for me however, was seeing the pride in the eyes of the young Bahamians enrolled in MTSU Aerospace Program (our first cluster of International Bahamians Aviation Cadets), and knowing that the future of Bahamas Aviation is being prepared today. 🇧🇸✈️

Kudos to Minister Coleby-Davis; The Department of Aviation in the Ministry of Energy, Utilities & Aviation; The Airport Authority; President McPhee and the Middle Tennessee State University; The University of The Bahamas and Aviation supporters and Bahamians everywhere for helping us take aviation to a higher altitude✈️🙌🏽🇧🇸
