Montreal Flyers We are a team of three female pilots from Montreal who competed in the 2014 Air Race Classic. It started in Concord, CA and ended in New Cumberland, PA. :)

Air Race Classic is an annual women’s air race covering over 2400 miles in four days and the 2014 route took us coast to coast. This race traces its roots to the 1929 Women’s Air Derby in which Amelia Earhart and 19 other daring female pilots flew from Santa Monica, California to Cleveland, Ohio, marking the beginning of women’s air racing. Each year, the race involves over 100 female pilots, coun

tless volunteers and thousands of followers throughout the race. We were the first Canadian collegiate team to complete this cross-continent race and we hope to inspire more Canadian teams in the future! Our goals through this race were to inspire young women to pursue their dreams, provide mentorship, and shed light on the incredible opportunities within our community in the field of aviation. The Montreal Chapter of "99s" Women Pilots is looking for women pilots to fly women and girls of all ages who have never flown in a small aircraft at Lachute Airport on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 9AM to 5:00PM in celebration of Women of Aviation Worldwide Week.

Women and girls (who have never flown in a small aircraft) who register for the event at: http://www.womenofaviationweek.org/rsvp/lachute2015/ can enjoy free flights on light aircraft and helicopters, as well as exclusive visits at local aviation facilities like the Bell Helicopter factory and the Mirabel a Control Tower.

From 12:00 to 1:00 PM, women from the Canadian Royal Air Force, who have succeeded in unconventional careers, will give talks about their experiences, inspiring all girls and women to pursue success in any field of their choosing in Canada.

The entire community (guys too!) will have a chance explore aircraft on site, meet the flight crews, and enjoy educational aeronautical activities.

Women Of Aviation Worldwide Week is an annual awareness week that aims to improve gender balance in the air and space industry.

Any ladies serious about getting a pilot's license? Apply for the 99s FLY NOW Award. Up to $3000 will be paid out in phases for each milestone of their flight training completed. There is a fall award and spring award, the applications are due Sept. 15 and March 15 respectively. Applicants need to become student members of the 99s by the application deadline. So get your student pilot permit, your aviation medical and join the 99s Montreal Chapter of Women Pilots/ Chapitre des 99s de Montréal !
