One last look before we say goodbye! ✈️

4 Wing Cold Lake has wrapped up its week of training exercises in Fort McMurray, and what a pleasure it was to welcome their aircraft, vehicles and personnel to YMM.

The excitement across Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo was incredible, and we loved seeing how warmly our community welcomed their visit.

Here’s one final video captured by Robert Buchanan, Airport Maintenance Technician with the Fort McMurray Airport Authority, who had a front row view while working alongside the team at YMM this week.

Thank you to Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Economic Development & Tourism for hosting this Procurement Information Session and creating an opportunity for local businesses to learn more about doing business at YMM.

We were pleased to share some insight into our procurement process and the types of opportunities that come with operating and developing a busy airport campus. With more than 1,900 acres, there is always something happening at YMM, and we value opportunities to connect with the local businesses that help make that work possible.

Yesterday, we had a very special early morning send off to Hayzen and his family as they head to Mexico for a well deserved Make-A-Wish Canada vacation!

We were so happy to be a small part of the journey and help make their departure from YMM extra special.

✈️ Aviation fans, keep your eyes on the skies! 👀

From Aug. 31 to Sept. 4, 4 Wing Cold Lake will conduct military training at Fort McMurray International Airport.

During this time, residents may notice increased air traffic and military activity, including CF-18 Hornet fighter jets, military vehicles and personnel in uniform around YMM and the community.

Every effort will be made to minimize noise and disruption while the training is underway.

We’re pleased to welcome 4 Wing Cold Lake to YMM and give our fellow aviation appreciators a heads up to keep an eye on the skies!

Our summer students are cleared for takeoff! ✈️

A heartfelt thank you to Matthew and Aly for a great summer with Team YMM.

Matthew joined our Facilities team alongside Manager Adam, while Aly worked with our IT team alongside Manager Eric, both gaining a behind the scenes look at what keeps YMM running each day.

Congratulations to our YMM Volunteers on receiving the Group Volunteerism Award, presented by FuseSocial at this weekend's Volunteerfest!

We couldn’t be prouder, although we can’t say we’re surprised. Our YMM Volunteers are an incredible group of people who generously give their time, energy and enthusiasm to support passengers travelling through our terminal, and promote flying YMM at special events in the community.
