Calling all gardeners! The Grand Manan Food Bank "Grow a Row" initiative is now a GO.
If you are able to "Grow a Row" of vegetable for the Food Bank, we will provide the seed or seedlings to you FREE of charge.
Find us at the Community Market and Thrifty's on Saturday, May 16th to pick up the seeds and/ or seedlings. If you are unable to pick up on May 16th, pickup can be done at the Village Office starting May 19th.

Do you burn oil? You can now switch from oil to a heat pump for FREE if you have an income under $70 000. Everything is arranged for you, all you need to do is apply.
If you have an income over $70 000, there is funding as well up to $15 000.

Thank you to MacGillivray Law Injury & Insurance and the community’s support for voting for the Grand Manan Food Bank. All funds received will be used to purchase food at our local food bank.

We would also like to thank the
New Brunswick Department of Justice and Public Safety for providing us funding for food purchases at the food bank as well.

5000 Farms is a non-profit farming organization dedicated to growing quality produce and protein to reduce food insecurity in New Brunswick. All food raised is donated into the food security network and distributed to those in need.
Their plan is to donate 16,000 chicken servings and 300,000 pounds of food through FeedNB across New Brunswick this year.
Action Ministries Food Bank would like to raise awareness and support, as 5000 Farms is working to close the remaining $125,000 gap to reach their $300,000 fundraising goal for the 2026 season.

Greg will be at the Food Bank the last Friday of every month. Anyone can drop by to see him starting at 12:30-2:30. He has lots of resources to help people in various areas. He will be at the Food Bank this month, Friday, April 24th.
