Tonight, the fire service community across Atlantic Canada mourns the loss of Firefighter Alexandru Uichita of the Bridgetown Volunteer Fire Department, who made the ultimate sacrifice while battling a wildfire in Nova Scotia.

Alex was only 40 years old, a husband, a father of three young children, a brother firefighter, and someone described by his department as dependable, kind, and always willing to help others.

Wildland firefighting is physically demanding, unpredictable, and dangerous work. This tragedy is a heartbreaking reminder that behind every fire truck, every hose line, and every wildfire response are real people serving their communities with courage and selflessness.

From all of us in the fire service community, we extend our deepest condolences to Alex’s family, the members of the Bridgetown Volunteer Fire Department, and everyone impacted by this devastating loss.

Rest easy, brother. We’ll take it from here.

Across Atlantic Canada — and really across the entire industry — we’re seeing 2–3 year lead times on new fire apparatus.

For many departments, that timeline simply doesn’t align with operational needs, aging fleets, or unexpected replacements.

At Safetek Profire, we’ve made a conscious effort to address that gap.

We work to maintain a steady pipeline of stock and demo units, both on order and on the ground — including:
• Pumpers
• Tankers
• Wildland units
• Ladders & platforms

These aren’t stripped-down, base-spec trucks.

They are thoughtfully configured with the options and features we know departments across our region rely on every day — built from experience, conversations, and real-world use.

The goal is simple:

👉 Provide departments with quality apparatus, configured properly, and available in a much shorter timeframe

For departments facing urgent needs, budget timing challenges, or simply looking to avoid extended build cycles, this can be a practical and effective path forward.

I’ve included a link below to view our current available units and demos.
