Last time I posted this thing it was basically a teaser with one wheel leaned against it.

Now it’s on 30s, new wheels, rad relocate, snorkels cleaned up, clutch kit, new seat cover done in house, carbs cleaned, vents fixed, and a pile of little things I found the hard way.

Still not done, but she’s back from the bog and acting ignorant again.

All work was done at the CTC shop.

Picked up this little Four Winns Fling for the grand total of $0 and somehow it’s turning out to be way less fu**ed than expected

It had been sitting long enough to start developing its own ecosystem, but after a foam cannon, some aggressive scrubbing and finally figuring out where the hell the floor actually drains, it cleaned up shockingly well.

Hull is clean, floor is solid, transom sounds good, jet still moves freely, and once I cleaned the engine bay I started finding a suspicious amount of newer parts. Apparently the inboard was rebuilt at some point, so next step is going through the mechanical side and seeing if the little bastard actually has life.

Interior still needs upholstery, but I already deleted the front bow pad because honestly it looks better without it.

Sorry front passengers. You’ve been value-engineered out of the boat.

For now the OMC stays

Unless I find a wrecked 300hp Sea-Doo donor???? and make an objectively terrible financial decision. 😈

This one was a bit more than a couple cracks

The front of the hood where the grille ties in was cracked right through on both sides, and the grille itself was bent. Straightened the grille back out, ground the damaged areas open and rebuilt everything with fiberglass from both sides before fairing, priming and blocking it back into shape.

The sides had a few spots where sun reflection had actually cooked the fiberglass, so all of the burnt material was sanded out, filled and primed.

While it was here I also shortened the hood, went over a bunch of previous bodywork, blocked down the highs and filled the lows, sanded out and sealed spider cracking, and gave the headlights a restoration.

Quite a bit hiding in this one once I started digging into it, but she's straight, solid and looking a whole lot healthier now

A little before & after on this one
Customer accidentally cut through the hull and sent a couple screws through the bottom while replacing the floor and new interior.
Opened everything up properly, rebuilt the damaged laminate, faired it back out, and sprayed fresh gelcoat.
Turned out pretty nice for a no match repair, but most importantly, back to being watertight.

Been a little quiet on here lately, but definitely not because things have been slow
Shop’s been packed and I’ve been busy knocking out repairs, refinishing, composites and everything in between.
Here’s a little bit of what’s been keeping me occupied lately. First up was that osmosis work I posted. Came out beautiful. Finished with VC epoxy and buffed to a gloss. Almost looks like factory gel.
