Every sailor knows the list. It starts innocently enough with a few small jobs. Replace a hose. Check a fitting. Touch up some varnish. Maybe organize the cockpit locker if there’s time.
Then suddenly you’re standing in the boatyard holding a scroll long enough to qualify as maritime history, covered in dust, paint, mystery hardware, and the growing realization that boats reproduce projects when no one is looking.
And still, somehow, we love them. Because every finished job feels like a small victory, every repair buys a little more confidence, and every launch day makes you forget just enough of the pain to start a brand-new list.
