Building Young Minds - On Vacation.
When we think of family vacations, the first thing that comes to mind is usually, “What activities can the kids do?”. But an article I read pointed out that travel could be a learning experience for little ones long before the vacation actually arrives. Get your kids involved in the planning process from the very beginning. Depending on the ages and interests of the children, it can be an experience that gives them exposure to concepts such as budgeting, geography, planning for the unexpected, creating family traditions and more. Giving kids an allowance on a regular interval a few months before a trip and having them save it in a piggy bank, for example, is a simple way to get them excited for the trip while teaching them the value of saving, planning and making smart choices. So next time you're planning a family vacation (or even Spring Break), remember that it’s also a great opportunity to get the kids engaged and involved, too.
