Yeah it's on!!!! North Bay is once again participating in the Canadian Commuter Challenge which runs from June 2 to 8, 2024. The last time we participated in 2022, North Bay placed first for the most registered businesses and we want to build on that success. All you have to do is try a different way to commute other than the traditional alone in your car. You can walk, cycle, take transit, car pool, remote work from home. Get your place of employment registered for a little friendly competition among your colleagues or challenge another company to beat your participation level. Registration is easy. Registrations are now open for businesses and organizations across Northeastern Ontario to sign-up and join Cohort Two of the Green Economy North /Économie verte du nord (GEN) program.

GEN forms part of the growing Green Economy Canada network, which serves over 300 diverse businesses and organizations across Canada!

GEN is here to service you with the knowledge, resources and tools you need to better understand your Green House Gas (GHG) emissions, develop robust action plans, and set science-based targets on our collective path to 'Net Zero' emissions by 2050.

Through a unique combination of virtual training sessions, in-person energy auditing services, and a collaborative approach to professional networking & project development; GEN is here to help YOU identify efficiencies, reduce emissions, and SAVE on costs!

Members will also soon be able to access an EXCLUSIVE MICROGRANT program, and receive up to 50% of costs to a maximum of $5000 - to help fund projects on the ground.

Also, in partnership with Green Economy Canada, program members can access it's EV Charger Incentive program - and receive up to 50% of costs to a maximum of $100,000 - towards the installation of EV Charging Infrastructure.

The next deadline for businesses to sign up, exchange contracts, and be confirmed a member is Friday 30th September 2022.

Ready to go again in the Great Cycle Challenge?
