If anyone knows me they know I have a love for reading. Reading anything from fantasy to romance to thrillers but also books that can help me grow as an individual and help me navigate my own feelings as well as that of others.
Initially, I was thinking this book would be a cute little read done by a young boy. A “fluff” novel you may call it. What I didn’t expect to happen is that I would be able to relate to the words he had written that I could connect with them as I remembered times from my childhood years but also, honestly, even at times as an adult. This book had moments that made me cry, a few moments that pulled at my heart and made me feel connected to the author.
This is a book which was probably written for an age demographic similar to his age and reaching kids who may be struggling in life but, in my opinion, this book is much more. This book can be a read for any age. It hits on a couple prespectives and really leaves the reader (whoever they may be) see and feel that they are not alone in their struggles and that they are not the only people out there feeling the way they do.
While reading this book, it felt familiar. The writing style reminded me of other books I have read but I couldn’t quite place who those authors were. Half way through the book it came to me. This author writing style reminded me of what I would say is a younger version of Colleen Hoover or Jodi Picoult. I found myself getting lost in his words just like I do when I read other authors books.
If this is just the start to this authors writing career I can honestly say that I am looking forward to seeing what he comes up with next. What real life situation he will touch on and how he will put it into words that make it relatiable for all who reads it.
