He used to wait at the end of his parent's driveway with lunch pail in hand. A neighbor used to stop on his way by, pick up Merv, and let him tag along. Merv was thrilled to ride in his gravel truck. Chev Bel Air and bought his first single axle gravel truck. Over the next few years Merv worked as owner operator hauling products for different companies. In l969 Merv realized he could go out and get the work, then hire people to get the job done. Pidherney's Trucking Ltd was incorporated in l971. Merv evolved his company by providing excellent customer service and Pidherney's growth continues to be based on this approach. Everyone at Pidherney's cares about your success. Throughout the organization, we have invested and continue to reinvest in the resources needed to complete your projects. Pidherney's employs competent and experienced project managers, superintendents and site foreman among a following of excellent operators and ground personal. It is the depth of our employee bank that allows Pidherney's to complete projects within budget and schedule without sacrificing quality. We are a large construction company with over 600 employees during peak season. We have over 500 pieces of equipment including excavators, scrapers, dozers, loaders, rock trucks, packers and a fleet of over
100 gravel and lowbed trucks. Pidherney's also provides concrete sales and deliveries from our Transit Mix batch plant. To round off our multi-faceted company, we also operate several sand and gravel pits throughout central Alberta. We are a "one-call" service organization that is ready to handle any oilfield, civil or hauling project.

🏒 FILL THE BUCKET FINALE! 🎒📚

We’re heading into the final stretch of our Fill the Bucket school supply drive, so we figured we’d give everyone a little extra reason to help us finish strong.

From now until September 11, every donation made to Fill the Bucket will earn you an entry to win 4 Edmonton Oil Kings vs. Calgary Hitmen tickets! 🏒🎟️

Drop off school supplies at Alpine Drug Mart, Dollar Gate, or the OES office and make sure we have your name and contact information so we can enter you in the draw.

When you think of Pidherney’s, there’s a pretty good chance you think of our gravel pits. 🪨

Well, it turns out “sorting rocks” is a little more impressive than it sounds.

Driving past one of our pits, it might not look like much more than big equipment and even bigger piles of rock. But there’s a whole process happening behind those piles.

Here, our jaw crusher is producing Class 1M rip rap while material is sorted by size, separating the finished product from waste and other bi-products along the way.

There's something pretty incredible about watching massive rock move through the process and come out the other side sized, sorted, and ready to build with.

Big rock. Bigger equipment. A whole lot more than "sorting rocks".

Just another day in aggregate!

⚠️ SCHOOL SAFETY REMINDER

Pidherney’s Inc is a family-operated company that cares deeply about the communities in which we live and work, and especially about the safety of our children.

Never thought we'd be saying this... but we might need another bucket. 🎒📚✏️

What started as a very empty and very ambitious bucket has quickly turned into backpacks, lunch kits, binders, notebooks, and an enormous amount of school supplies.

Every single item in this bucket represents something a local student will not have to go without and means one less expense for a family heading into a new school year.

To the families who added an extra item to their shopping cart, the people who dropped off what they could, our own Pidherney's & OES employees who brought in donations, the businesses who jumped in and challenged one another, and everyone who shared this campaign and helped it reach a little further, we thank you. The support behind Fill the Bucket has already been nothing short of incredible. 💙

The kicker? We're only halfway through. There are still 2 weeks to make an even greater difference for our local students.

As we keep filling the bucket, our local schools would also love to collect some of the everyday essentials that help students feel comfortable and confident throughout the school day. Hygiene products like deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes and toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, hair brushes and combs, or extra socks would all be enormously helpful additions. 🫧🚿🧦

We are collecting donations until September 11. So keep bringing it, Rocky. We'll find another bucket if we have to. 🚜🪣

A few detail shots from the Highway 2 project. 🏗️🚧

A closer look at how much actually goes into building what you eventually drive over without a second thought. From major girder lifts and concrete work to tight spaces, long days, and plenty of coordination, there are a lot of moving pieces behind a project of this scale.

But behind every piece of equipment and every milestone is a crew of people showing up, putting in the hours, looking out for one another, and taking pride in getting the job done right. Projects like this take a village to build, and we're proud of the teamwork that continues to bring this one together.
