The repaving project on Lochside Regional Trail between Beacon Avenue and Weiler Avenue is complete, and we want to thank trail users for their patience as this project was concluded!

Drainage issues within the project site through winter and spring temporarily paused work and pushed back the paving window. Paving and line painting were completed over the last couple of weeks and the trail has reopened just in time for your summer adventures!

The CRD operates and maintains nearly 100 kilometers of trail within the regional trail system and is always working to repair and upgrade these corridors as funding, donations and other resources allow.

In 2023, the section of the Lochside Regional Trail between Mills and Beacon was repaved, and in 2021, the section between McDonald Park Road and Swartz Bay Road was repaved, both thanks to generous private donations. With this latest section now complete, it is smooth sailing from the ferry terminal to Weiler Avenue and the pedestrian overpass!

🚧PSA: Lochside Regional Trail - Temporary Detours Through Fall 2024🚧

Heads up to Lochside Regional Trail users in Sidney! This fall, the much anticipated re-paving work on the section of trail between Beacon Avenue and Weiler Avenue will take place.

Between October 21 and the end of November, arborists, construction and paving crews will be on site. The sections of trail between Weiler Avenue and Orchard Avenue, as well as Orchard Avenue and Beacon Avenue will see intermittent closures during this time and temporary detours will be in place.

Please use the detour routes identified and follow all signage and traffic control personnel on site.
