As I sharpen my knives for the show this weekend I will be posting pics so you can get a preview of some of the work that will be available. Blade #453 has black burlap micarta from Maritime Knife Supply and yellow racing stripes that are raked across the back end for extra sexiness. There was a lot of wastage in this type of lamination but perfection always comes with a cost in time and materials. 8.5” classic chefs blade with tiny mosaic pins by custom Mosaic pin Come early on friday august 14, it won’t last long. I”d like to take a moment and acknowledge my buddies Malcolm Stewart amd Peter Tal . My mom has a serious health issue that pulled me away from my work to deal with it and those two guys stepped up as a favor to grind about 10 blades for me so I wouldn’t fall behind for my show august 14-16. Muskoka North Studio Tour Even tho they had their own work to get to for their Great Lakes Custom Knife Show I really appreciate the help guys. If you as a collector are looking to support some upcoming talent, stop by their booths.

When Wynn Stitt picked up my anvil yesterday he brought me a knife made with wormy maple that was a old fence rail I had stashed away for 40 yrs from our family farm (now long gone). Its beautiful and you can catch him next weekend in Goderich at the Great Lakes Custom Knife Show for one say only. A lot of my friends will be there too selling their work. Worth the drive. Speed running the last of my damascus knives for the Muskoka North Studio Tour coming August 14, 15 & 16. These beauties are waiting to be dipped to bring out the damascus pattern and I’m leaving a Brut de Forge finish along the spine. My new favorite Canadian author Brian Kelsall stopped in to pick up some knives and dropped off a copy of his latest book, and signed it, today! I love always have. Living and working in an artist community like Huntsville really gives me a fulfillment I’ve never experienced elsewhere ❤️ You can find his new book at Indigo 🙂 thanks to Coles Art Market Algonquin Art Centre and Muskoka North Studio Tour for supporting me as a working artist.
