Is October too early to start dreaming about a warm getaway? 😂

I’ve always thought half the fun of a vacation is simply having one to look forward to. There’s something about knowing there’s a little sunshine waiting for you at the end of a long stretch of cold winter days. Kind of like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow… except the pot of gold is a beach chair, warm weather, and hopefully a drink in your hand! 🌴☀️

Winter doesn’t sound quite so bad when there’s a warm getaway waiting somewhere in the middle of it 😎

Fall is here 🍂 which means winter travel season is getting closer!

And everyone seems to have their own approach to booking. Some people love having their winter getaway locked in a year ahead, while others would rather wait and see where the deals (and their mood) take them. ✈️

There’s something special about returning to a place you’ve already been. 🌎

We put so much emphasis on travelling somewhere new, whether it’s a new city, a new country, or another place to check off the list. But going back doesn’t mean repeating the same trip.

You never really visit the same place twice, because you never arrive as the same version of yourself. 🫣

The places may look familiar, but you notice different things, you travel differently and you appreciate things you might have rushed past the first time. Sometimes, standing somewhere you’ve stood before makes you realize just how much has changed since the last time you were there.

Where’s a place you can’t stop going back to? If you know me, you already know where mine is 😂

Have you ever come home from a trip and thought… I wish I did more?

Maybe you skipped things on your itinerary, changed your plans, or finally visited somewhere you’d dreamed about and it just wasn’t what you expected.

It’s easy to look back and think you should’ve seen more, done more, or made better use of your time. But I think that’s part of travelling too.

Not every destination will be your favourite. Not every day needs to be packed with sightseeing. Sometimes discovering what you don’t enjoy is just as valuable as discovering what you do!

So maybe instead of asking, “Did I do enough?” the better question is, “What did I take away from it?”

Because if you went, experienced and learned something along the way, it was never a waste.✈️☀️

We spend so much time asking, “Where should I go next?” But maybe the better question is, “What am I looking for?”🤔

Some trips are about finding peace. Others are about finding perspective. Some challenge us, inspire us, or reconnect us with ourselves.

I think that’s where the difference between vacationing and traveling begins.

Sometimes what you need is a quiet beach and a good book. Other times, what you need is sore feet from exploring all day and stories you’ll still be telling years from now.🌅🌁

Neither is better than the other. They simply serve different purposes.

The destination matters, but I think the reason you’re going matters even more. So before asking, “Where should I go next?” ask yourself, “What do I need this trip to give me?”😌

Europe’s heat wave is a good reminder that not everything about travel can be planned (especially the weather). 🫠 But sometimes those little “inconveniences” end up being the things you remember most!

Years from now, no one will say, “Remember when the weather was 22° and everything went exactly as planned?”

They’ll say, “Remember when we went to Europe during that crazy heat wave?” 😂

You can’t control the weather, but you can appreciate the stories that come from it. The unexpected has a funny way of becoming the best part of the journey☀️🌍
