Did you know that most Disney cruises have a Pirate night?
You get to see the characters dressed in their pirate outfits, your server in the dining room will be dressed up and Disney will give a pirate bandana to each guest in your stateroom to add to your outfit. Some guests also bring pirate costumes with and they can go all out. It's really something to see all the costumes on the ship on pirate night.
On pirate night there is a special menu in the dining room and in the evening there is a pirate show complete with fireworks if the weather allows. It can be a lot of fun.

Have you ever considered going on a cruise but you also want to go to a Disney park? You can do both!
There are lots of options for a land and sea trip. You could visit Disney and sail out of Los Angeles or visit Walt Disney World and sail out of Port Canaveral. I’ve done 1 land and sea trip so far and I hope there will be more in the future. It’s a great way to have multiple experiences all in one vacation.

For those of you with a Bluey loving kid, this will be so fun. We have watched every episode of Bluey in our house and I would love to go and see all of the Bluey content they are adding to Animal Kingdom.

Have you considered a Disney cruise but you don’t have any young kids to take with, that’s not a problem at all. The Disney cruise ships all have adult only spaces. There are lounges, there’s a whole pool deck area with a pool, 1 or more hot tubs, a pool bar and a cafe. The ship also has a spa, a gym, a walking or running track and broadway style shows that all can enjoy. And then there’s the food, so much to choose from and they even have some adult only restaurants.

If you’ve ever considered going on a solo parent and child trip, I highly recommend going on a Disney Cruise.
My son and I had so much fun. We went to trivia competitions, arts and crafts and how to cook demonstrations. We saw 2 broadway style shows, the movie Hoppers and I even got to watch The Devil Wears Prada 2 the day before it was released in theatre. My son spent some time at the kids club and we both made some new friends.
We boarded the ship on my birthday and I got special treatment. Our servers sang to me in the dining room and brought me a piece of cake. Then when we returned to our room there was a towel birthday cake waiting for me. It was a very special experience.

Last week I boarded the Disney Magic at the Port of San Diego. This port is very walkable. There are hotels, restaurants, shops and landmarks within a couple blocks and just across the street from the ships.
We saw some tall ships, walked about 5 minutes and saw the USS Midway all while having the most beautiful weather.
Once we got to our room we could even watch the airplanes landing. Everything is so close together in San Diego, this is definitely my favourite cruise port so far.

I’m home from another fun filled Disney Cruise.
It was just me and my youngest son so this trip was full of new experiences. We flew in and out of 5 different airports, 2 were brand new to us. We also visited 2 different cruise ports because the cruise was one way from San Diego to Vancouver.
We played trivia, did crafts, made new friends and even got to see 2 new movies, 1 wasn’t even in theatres yet.
Now to figure out when the next cruise will be.
