π€¨π§Why the freight of containers are getting high everyday ?
This rise in freight rates has occurred largely as a result of the practice of Blank Sailing, adopted in 2020 in the framework of the pandemic, and which, added to the high concentration of cargo transport in large shipping alliances , has generated concern in governments globally.
A liner service operator, due to various factors, may decide to cancel the call of a ship in a certain port or region, or directly throughout the entire segment of its route. When that happens, the affected port / region / entire route will suffer the so-called Blank Sailing, that is, during that week, fortnight or month (depending on the frequency of the line service) said area will not have a ship to unload or load the corresponding freights. During the pandemic, this practice has become widespread, which has affected the rise in freight rates.
