Posted • Wendy Sosa | TRAVEL + PURPOSE] So apparently you need a reservation to hike almost anywhere. Like, having to book a month/two months in advance for a simple trail hike. So we couldn’t hike Hanging Lake or Maroon bells. After being told no and much driving around, we finally found a cool little gem leading to a refreshing river.

Whatever happened to spontaneity? To being on a road trip, and being able to suddenly just stop somewhere without any prior planning?

Anyway, this was a cool little spot.

📍Skogafoss Waterfall, Iceland 🇮🇸
Skogafoss is a waterfall in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline. It is unique because the waterfall comes directly from two glaciers! If you climb the 370 steps to the top of Skogafoss waterfall you’ll be rewarded with an awe-inspiring view out over south Iceland’s coastline. This is also the start of the Fimmvorduhals pass, a popular hiking route.

Due to the amount of spray the waterfall consistently produces, a single or double rainbow is normally visible on sunny days.

Bordered by rugged mountains and the stunning Arabian desert, this camp lets you wake up in the wild outdoors without compromising an ounce of luxury. Domes are very spacious and comfortable, with AC (important!), bathrooms and running water. Thanks to the transparent roof you can watch thousands of stars at night right from your bed.
