Grow is brand new, bringing a unique approach to all aspects of volunteering abroad. Travel to Grow is founded and run by Isabelle Klumper and Sasha Arms, who met while studying at the University of Nottingham in 2001. With academic, practical and personal experience of travel, appropriate development and sharing knowledge about the world, Isabelle and Sasha are advocates of finding paths to a fairer, more inclusive world. Isabelle Klumper
After finishing her degree in Geography, Isabelle worked in the tourism industry for a number of years, working for Thomas Cook, Neckermann and Bales Worldwide in locations across the world. She went on to complete a Masters in Tourism Management and Marketing at the renowned CERAM Business School in Antibes. Isabelleâs experiences of travel and new cultures started from a young age, having spent a number of years of her childhood in Africa. More recently, Isabelle was responsible for co-ordinating volunteers across South Africa for an international organisation and worked from the German office of World Vision, helping to improve life for disadvantaged people, especially children. Sasha Arms
Sasha has worked in the communications and not-for-profit sector since completing her Geography degree. She has worked both in Europe and abroad, which includes her time spent working as a journalist in Honduras, where she focused on reporting on social justice issues across Central America. Sasha has also worked for charities including Crimestoppers and Age UK, volunteered for not-for-profit agencies abroad, and has hundreds of published articles in publications as diverse as Honduras This Week and the Lonely Planet. Sasha has also been the editor and editorial director for international print and online publications based in the UK. Most recently, Sasha headed up the communications team at international the peacebuilding NGO, Conciliation Resources.
