The Grand Egyptian Museum has finally opened! 🥳 I mean, finally. As someone who has studied this history for decades, I’m genuinely impressed, mostly because I was convinced the scaffolding was a permanent, modern art installation. 🏗️ We truly are a nation of chronic over-achievers who just happen to take a few millennia to continue building major projects. 🤷‍♂️

It’s an amazing feeling, and the ceremony definitely sent out some messages:

1-Peace, with a Contingency Plan: We’ve been promoting peace since the invention of the sandal 🕊️, but if you push us, you’ll find our collective spine is still made of the same ancient, reinforced granite we built the pyramids with. 🧱 We are basically emotionally sensitive, historically durable people. 💪

2-The World’s Oldest Roommates: Ancient Egyptian civilization didn't disappear; it just merged with us. That urge you get to organize things in perfect symmetry 📏, or build something unnecessarily large? That’s the "Ancient Egyptian spirit" demanding attention. It’s less a lost culture and more a highly critical family legacy. 🙄

3-Global Storage Wars: We’ve done the international inventory 📋, and it turns out most "big" museums overseas are just our expensive, highly specialized, internationally managed storage units. 📦 We appreciate you keeping an eye on our stuff. Now, who’s going to pay the shipping costs to get it back? (Don't worry, we're not asking, just filing the request. 😉)

4-The VIP Utility Service: The Nile is mandatory. 🌊 You try building a civilization in a desert without one. It’s our non-negotiable lifeline, and we protect it like it’s the country's main Wi-Fi router. 📶 If the water stops flowing, the entire 5,000-year-old system goes down. 🛑

5-Come for the Artifacts, Stay for the Authenticity: Come visit Egypt! ☀️ Forget the perfectly curated history lessons; come instead for the masterclass in surviving 5,000 years of history, navigating traffic with a smile 😂, and getting the real-life tutorial on how to thrive through everything. We call it molasses; it looks dark but it is very sweet. and we’re the stars. ⭐

The GEM is here, and we promise to try and keep the dust off the artifacts this time. 🤫
