The GEM is located near the Giza Pyramids (outside Cairo), and is planned to be one of the world’s largest museums dedicated to a single civilisation. It will house tens of thousands of artifacts including the full collection of Tutankhamun’s treasures.
The opening ceremony on 1 November 2025 will be a major global event with heads of state, dignitaries, and international guests. After the ceremony period, public access is scheduled to begin from 4 November 2025.
