Why Med vs Middle East support requirements are not the same:
If you have managed yachts in both the Med and the Middle East, you will already know one thing.
They are completely different operating environments.
On paper, the work looks the same. The same standards, the same expectations, the same pressure to deliver. But the reality on the ground is that what works in Palma, Antibes, or Genoa does not always translate to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Doha.
And if you try to run them the same way, you quickly feel it.
Mediterranean season: everything happens at once
The Med is intense, fast, and highly seasonal. Everyone is busy, every yard is full, and every contractor is stretched.
It is not usually the technical work that causes issues. It is availability.
If you do not plan early, secure the right people, and keep timelines tight, you are immediately behind. And once the season starts, the window to fix problems gets very small, very quickly.
Middle East operations: different pace, different priorities
The Middle East is a different kind of pressure.
It can be more stable year-round, but logistics, lead times, port processes, and operational planning tend to carry more weight. There is often less tolerance for disruption, and a greater focus on control, discretion, and continuity.
You can have the budget and the plan, but if the supply chain or local process is not locked in, the project slows down fast.
The lesson: support models must adapt
Yacht support is not just about having contacts. It is about understanding how each region actually works.
In the Med, you need speed, flexibility, and rapid mobilisation.
In the Middle East, you need structure, planning, and strong local coordination.
At 7Ps Yacht Support, we support yachts across both regions, adapting the project approach to suit the realities of where the yacht is operating, not where the plan was written.
Because the yachts move, the standards stay the same, and the support needs to keep up.
