Happy International Flight Attendant Day ✈️
Today is not about the pilots in my family, but about my wife (ex-Emirates), my sister (ex-British Airways), my mother (one of the first Czechs to work for Air India in the 70s), and my grandmother, who was one of the first after JRD Tata formed the airline as Air India in 1946 (post Tata Airlines). I don't have a photo with me of my grandmother in her uniform, so it's a regular photo of her.
Unfortunately, my sister passed away at 27 after a short 6 month battle with Lymphoma in 2008, so as well as the photo of her, the second one is of some of her colleagues, with my parents in the centre, who attended her memorial 18yrs ago.
My great grandfather, a proud Scottish man called Alexander Beards, was in India in charge of building railroads there, which still exist to this day, so that's the connection to my grandmother being in India at the time. Then she met my grandfather, who was an Air India captain, and the rest is history.
I know it's not an easy job, so thank you for everything you do!
