MOVE to BEE

MOVE to BEE MOVE TO BEE is a project of itinerant beekeeping promoting environmental awareness through creative activities. It takes shape into the « Apibus », a 12 t.

MOVE TO BEE is an international project which aim to raise social and environmental awareness about worldwide bees' population collapse. It main goal is to urge citizen, politics and NGOs on the necessity to implement local initiatives in order to better protect bees colonies from the multifactorial causes of their massive death : pesticides, diseases, exhaustion of the biodiversity, electromagnet

ic waves, etc. The project MOVE TO BEE is based on social innovation, solidarity and pedagogy. truck builded with sidelong hives, equipped with all necessary bekeeping tools. The Apibus wil follow a 6 steps road every spring, during 3 months, across a european region (Balkans, germanic countries, Iberian peninsula, etc.), meeting local population and organisations throughout a multicolor program of activities and events. MOVE TO BEE is a project of social innovation, a unique and attractive initiative gathering a multiplicity of aspects as environmental awareness, artistic involvment, economical and social bonds. Carrying as well audiovisual shooting and editing equipments, the Apibus has a twofold action, one directly on the field, another using New Technologies of Information and Communication (NTIC) to inform and document its experiences. That digital data will be fed to the website MOVE TO BEE and give a very real image of beecare for and from beekeepers, organizations and other citizen actions. One main value of MOVE TO BEE is solidarity, between individuals and toward nature, and it strives to build international patnerships and strenghtening local exchanges, link together people and groups from various communities around bees' collapse and beekeepers' struggle to keep their hives alive. Our philosophy is that raising awareness about bees means thinking about global environmental changes, and that's why we make a priority to bring together various actors and citizen for a stronger impact of our actions. Learning from each other, discovering new practices and sharing experiences, that's all in the pedagogy of MOVE TO BEE. The activities offered will be opened for children and adults. Through creatives and open air activities based on formal and informal education, publics will have opportunity to learn about beekeeping, permacultural practices, and many other practices related to nature, well-being and social integration. MOVE TO BEE is a project developped by Florence Guénaut and supported by Synoksin, a french NGO striving to establish perennial links between individuals, their communities, and their natural environment. Florence is a 28 years old young woman, graduated in cinematographic studies and philosophy, travelling across Europe for more than 4 years in frame of mobility and volunteering projects in fields of video documentary, environment and non-formal education. She's involved for more than 10 years in many social organisations and project, volunteering in correction centers, schools, and youth centers. The MOVE TO BEE project is now at its beginning, looking for funds to buy the truck and equipments, create the website, etc. Its European network count already many partners and followers in France, Serbia, Portugal, Germany, Slovenia, Spain, UK, Croatia, and Italy. We are looking for any interested partners as NGOs, citizens, public institutions, to help us and host the Apibus along the way. Waiting next spring to meet you on the roads, we invite you to follow and support us on the social networks

On the 19th of June a huge fire destroyed many homes and natural reserve on South Portugal, Algarve.
Amongst them, the home of a dear friend that was very involved on "Move to bee" since the beginning.
It was a paradise for bees and many other wildlife.
They need as much support as possible.
If you can give a hand on rebuilding, reforesting, donate some materials or make a contribution please do so.
If you need any info just PM us.
Let's support Luna and Linda with all the love we can

In France, beekeeping season is starting with some new scandal. Indeed, according to a study led by the ministry of agriculture, only 6,6% of the bees mortality in 2016 would be the cause of pesticides... The main beekeeper federation, UNAF, deny this report and claim that the ministry is hiding the true level of intoxications related to agrochemicals.

L’Union nationale de l’apiculture française accuse le ministère de cacher les dégâts des pesticides sur les ruches.

It was in spring 2014 that sprouts the idea to create a truck- educative apiary.

Eager to travel, meet people and lead them to meet each others around the bees, lead me to create Synoksin, an NGO based on sustainability, international mobility & NTIC; to get a truck driving licence, then to follow an international internship in beekeeping in Serbia & FYROM, and then to have my first bees, my first slovenian hives, and to do a journey in Portugal to meet local beekeepers.

Move To Bee goes on towards realisation this spring 2017, with a fresh new icon, created by 3 brilliant students, Justine Gary, Chloé Stenger et Julie Lambert, and soon a website to share all our experiences.

"Les besoins des abeilles sauvages sont si différents que, comme certains experts le disent, élever des abeilles à miel pour sauver les pollinisateurs revient à élever des poulets pour aider les oiseaux"

"The needs of wild bees are so different that, as some experts say, raising honeybees to save pollinators is like raising chickens to help birds."

It's not about hives. It's about habitat. Here's what you need to know to help wild bees in your own backyard.
