When I moved to Paris 6 months ago, I thought I knew what I was in for.

But what I didn’t know, is that this city would feel more like home than anywhere else.

Has been challenging? Yes. Do I miss parts of my old life? Absolutely. But there is something to be said about making your own way, doing something that seems outrageous to some people, but to you - it just fits.

Starting over in your 40s is wild. No doubt about it. And there’s no other journey I’d rather be on ❤️

As someone who made several major career (and life) shifts in the past few years, this resonates deep!

I’ve learned that taking risks and switching things up is so necessary in order for us to keep growing. I could easily have stayed exactly where I was and hoped for a different outcome, but there came a point where I JUST KNEW. I could always wonder, or finally take some chances and have faith that everything would work out fine (or better) than I could have imagined.

I spent several thousand dollars on ads so you don't have to.

As someone who has used Pinterest both as an ecommerce store owner and also for my personal boards, I'm finding a discrepancy. As a small business owner, I wanted to explore this visual platform to reach my audience where they were - creating cozy spaces, gathering home decor ideas and hopefully looking to discover new brands. What I found was lots of ads by larger department stores and brands which, in reality, weren't even my competitors. So, I cut my losses and counted it as a lesson. If you don't try something, you never know and so I was willing to see for myself. Now several years later, I found myself using the platform as a consumer and looking for home decor inspiration and to make a major purchase. Not only did I discover a new brand but using Pinterest also got me into a store to check it out. Candles and couches are two very different things but that got me thinking.. Who else is using Pinterest to shop? Who's using it to gather inspiration and organize?
