Cannes is calling — and yes, the Festival is happening right now 🎬
There's a moment when you climb those red steps and something in you just decides: why not? Nobody stops you. Nobody checks. You just walk up like you belong, and for a second, you do.
But here's the thing; Cannes is not all red carpets and flash photography. One street away from the Palais, it gets quieter. The light goes golden. A fisherman is hauling nets.
That's the Cannes I keep coming back for. The one that doesn't care about the cameras.

If you’re looking for somewhere on the French Riviera that feels a little less busy than Saint-Tropez… this is your sign to visit Port Grimaud 🇫🇷

Nicknamed the “Venice of Provence,” this lakeside village is a maze of canals, pastel houses, and tiny bridges that make every corner feel like a postcard. Boats replace cars, mornings are slow, and everything feels effortlessly beautiful.

What I loved most? It’s peaceful, photogenic, and still feels like a hidden gem—despite being just minutes from the Riviera’s busiest spots.

📍Port Grimaud, France
💡 Tip: climb the church tower for the best panoramic views over the canals

Would you add this to your South of France itinerary?

I didn't expect to fall in love with Limoges — but here we are. A city famous for porcelain that deserves to be famous for so much more. Come wander with me.

Today is Fête du Muguet in France — one of those beautifully simple traditions I love and miss. Now that I live in the UK.

Every 1st of May, people give small sprigs of muguet — lily of the valley — as a symbol of happiness, luck and the arrival of spring. It’s such a gentle, poetic little ritual, and honestly, very French.

It also made me think about all the other small and big reasons France is so easy to love: the markets, the castles, the food, the villages, the landscapes, the little everyday traditions that make the country feel so special.

So I’m sharing this older-but-loved post again:

20 Irresistible Reasons to Love France — From Castles to Cuisine and Bastille Day 🇫🇷

From Bordeaux wines and Lyon bouchons to lavender fields, Annecy, the Dordogne and the Côte d’Azur, it’s a little love letter to France.

Sunday travel daydreaming ✨

If you could spend a long weekend anywhere in France next month, where would you choose?

🇫🇷 Paris
🌊 Nice / French Riviera
🏰 Loire Valley
🍷 Bordeaux
🌸 Provence
🏔️ Annecy

I think I’d choose the Riviera for sea views and sunshine.

This is your sign to book that Paris trip ✨

A bateau mouche gliding under Pont Alexandre III is peak “I need a break” energy. Would you do a Seine river cruise in Paris?

That moment you step inside and forget what you came for. ✨

The Galeries Lafayette, Paris — a grand magasin born in 1893 that still stops you in your tracks. No filters needed when the architecture does all the work. 🏛️

Have you ever walked into a building and felt completely lost for words?

One of the most beautiful towns on the French Riviera is Menton.

Often overlooked compared to Nice or Monaco, Menton sits right on the Italian border and is famous for its colourful old town and lemon festival.

I included it as a stop in my 7-day French Riviera itinerary.

Have you heard of Menton before?

If you love medieval streets and historic cities, York might be one of the most charming places in England.

A few years ago I set myself a little challenge: to visit as many cities in the UK as possible before eventually moving back to France. York was one of the places that stayed with me the most.

From the leaning medieval buildings of the Shambles, to the breathtaking York Minster, and the fascinating Viking history of Jorvik, the whole city feels like stepping back in time.

I recently revisited my notes and photos and turned them into a complete itinerary for spending 2 days in York.

✨ Read the guide here:
