Last weekend, we delivered a ship on the port of Toulon ⚓️

The purchaser needed a range of products in 48h.

Thanks to our team, we found the goods in time and as you can see, the delivery went well !

Last week, we received an emergency request from a cargo in Le Havre. The ship needed supplies as soon as possible. 🚨

As you can imagine, we accepted this demand with open arms !

We had 4 days to validate the mission, and of course, we made it !

We delivered the cargo in time at Le Havre's port.

MSC Cruises Lines has collaborated with Niklas Ekstedt, Michelin Chef, to design the menu for the new specialty restaurant named Chef's Garden Kitchen👨‍🍳.
This restaurant features the first-at-sea hydroponic micro-farm in the world, in partnership with Babylon Micro-Farms.

Chef Eksetedt shared this has been an exciting experience, and they have created something really special and unique. Guests will be treated to a uniquely immersive experience with extraordiarny creations in an open kitchen against a backdrop of panoramic sea views. 🌊

Babylon Micro-Farms has developed a technology to power the indoor hydroponic farms and farming service that enable businesses and communities to have a year-round supply of ultra-fresh produce.

This is another step in the net zero emissions by 2050.🌿

Let's come back to the "Scaling Sustainably" theme of the Seatrade Europe 2023. ⚓

The idea is to have a 0 carbon footprint by 2050 for a lot of cruise lines, to be in line with the International Maritime Organization's shipping decarbonisation targets.

Smaller cruise lines have already been working on that goal, and are very confident that they will succeed. Some of them have shared their insight as to what they are putting in place to reach their target.

Starting to review their current sustainability measures and procedures helps them to know what they want to achieve and how they will achieve it.

These are ideas of the process for setting sustainability goals :

🌿 Recycling and saving water
🌿 Preserving their destinations for future generations, make sure each destination benefits from their visit,
🌿 Respecting heritage and biodiversity,
🌿 Strengthening their partnerships with local stakeholders, and support local communities
🌿 Finding ways to enhance their contribution to local economies and promote the culture of the destinations that they visit
🌿 Increasing the passenger's awareness of environmental protection while travelling, and involve them in onboard initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint

And most of them agree that being a smaller sized company is what helps them most to control their sustainability, and achieve their goals. It allows them to collaborate closely with local suppliers, ensure that their team is environmentally aware, and that their initiatives are driven by both the communities they visit, and their stakeholders. 🩵
