Summer is over, the boys are back at school, and it feels like the perfect time for a little reintroduction.

I’m Carrie, also known as The Holiday Fixer, and I’m a tailor-made travel specialist.

I don’t simply book holidays. I create travel around you, your family, your plans, your priorities and the experiences you want to have.

My job doesn’t end once your holiday is booked.

July and August brought family life, personal travel, industry events and much behind-the-scenes work for clients.

I helped families reconnect, created multi-generational trips, arranged milestone celebrations, and planned villa holidays, all-inclusive escapes and completely bespoke itineraries.

Destinations include Turkey, Crete, Majorca, Madeira, Fuerteventura, Orlando, the Maldives, Switzerland, Italy and beyond.

I crafted an incredible West Coast USA itinerary: San Francisco, Yosemite, Mammoth Lakes, Las Vegas, West Hollywood.

I arranged a multi-generational Maldives holiday for an 80th birthday, with personal touches and dedicated attention.

I helped celebrate 30th, 70th, 80th and 18th birthdays, arranging special dining, spa treatments, car hire and unique experiences.

Beyond what you see:
Flight cancellations resolved overnight; rebooking, expenses and compensation claims managed.
Lost items tracked and returned; comfort blankets recovered and delivered home.

This is what being a travel specialist means:

What goes into the cost of a safari?

It’s a question worth asking, because the price of a safari isn’t simply paying for a beautiful room in the African bush

Check out slide 4-5 and 6!.

Behind the scenes, there are experienced guides and safari vehicles, conservation and park fees, remote logistics, food and supplies, transfers, camp staff and so much more.

And importantly, not all safari prices are comparing the same thing.

A £5,000 safari and a £10,000 safari may look very different once you understand what’s included, where you’re staying, how you’re travelling and how your time in the bush is structured.

That’s why when I create a tailor-made safari, I don’t just look at the price.

I look at what you’re getting for your investment and whether it delivers the experience you actually want.

Because the right safari isn’t necessarily the cheapest.

And it isn’t necessarily the most expensive.

It’s the one that’s right for you.

A fly-in safari can be the perfect choice if you want to maximise your time in the bush, reach remote safari camps and spend less time on long transfers.

A road safari offers a completely different kind of adventure, travelling through incredible landscapes, seeing more of the country between destinations and enjoying the journey as part of the experience.

Neither is better.

One of the biggest misconceptions about safari is that everyone experiences the same thing.

They don’t.

A private safari gives you complete flexibility. Want to spend an extra 30 minutes watching a leopard in a tree? You can. Guides can go off road, letting you experience less crowds and you’ll be able to get closer to the animals.

On a shared safari, timings and sightings are guided by the group and vehicle schedule.

Neither option is “better” as such, it simply depends on the experience you’re looking for.

That’s why every safari I create starts with understanding what matters most to you.

I recently had the privilege of being invited to a private presentation with the Business Development Director of Cap St Georges in Cyprus… and I finally understood why this hotel has become one of the most talked-about luxury resorts in the Mediterranean.

The words that kept coming up throughout the presentation were:

Ikos Kissamos, Crete recently opened its doors on 30th April 2026 and the first guest reviews coming in are sounding VERY impressive already.

Set on the beautiful Kissamos Bay near Chania, this is Ikos’ first resort in Crete and from what people are already sharing online, it’s bringing that signature Ikos luxury to a completely new level. Think long sandy/pebble-beaches, stylish suites, incredible food and the kind of effortless all-inclusive experience that makes you never want to leave.

But what’s really getting people talking? The dining experiences. One restaurant everyone seems excited about is Anaya, where guests can enjoy a live Teppanyaki experience.
