✈️ Good news if you’re travelling via the Middle East! 🌍

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has now lifted its advice against all but essential travel to destinations including the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain.

This means airlines are able to resume normal operations through these major hubs, making it easier for travellers heading to destinations across Asia, Africa, Australia and beyond.

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the situation or have an upcoming holiday that routes through the Middle East, this is a really positive step.

Travelling to Europe? A quick update on the new Entry/Exit System (EES)

You may have seen (or even experienced) that the new Entry/Exit System (EES) is now in place — and yes, it has caused some delays at certain airports.
I want to talk about it honestly, so you know exactly what to expect… without the stress.

What’s changed?
When you arrive in many European destinations, instead of a quick passport stamp, you’ll now go through a digital process where:
• Your passport is scanned
• Your fingerprints are taken
• A photo is captured

Why the delays?
This is brand new, and like anything new, there’s a settling-in period.
Airports, staff, and travellers are all getting used to the system — so queues have been a little longer than normal, particularly at peak times.

What does this mean for you?
• Your first trip using EES may take a bit longer at passport control
• After you’re registered, future trips should be quicker
• It’s not something you need to prepare for in advance — everything is done on arrival
My advice (the bit that really matters)
• Allow a little extra time when travelling
• Be patient with the process (I know… easier said than done!)
• And most importantly — don’t let it put you off travelling

My honest take?
Yes, there have been delays. But this is temporary while everything beds in.
This isn’t here to make travel harder — it’s just a different way of doing things, and it will become the norm quicker than we think.

Back from Hurghada… and what a week it was ☀️

Sunshine, sea views, marina evenings and a hotel that genuinely exceeded expectations. I’ll be sharing my full thoughts soon — but spoiler alert… Hurghada is a very strong contender for February half-term. Warm, easy and surprisingly brilliant.

And in a completely unexpected twist… I even snuck into the cockpit on one of the flights — a first for me! ✈️ Safe to say that was a bit of a pinch-me moment.

A huge thank you to everyone who sent enquiries while I was away. I’ve logged them all and will be working through them as quickly as I can over the next couple of days.

For now, bear with me while I swap poolside planning for desk-side planning!

Blue Monday? Not on my watch 💙

Did you know Blue Monday was actually made up by a psychologist for a holiday company back in 2004?
Yep. Completely invented. And looking outside today… nothing blue about this Monday. Not even the sky.

Which makes it a perfect day to plan something lovely ☀️

I wanted to gently acknowledge the heartbreaking news from Brimscombe (a community very close to where I live), where a mother and her two children tragically lost their lives in a fire on Boxing Day.

It’s one of those moments that stops you in your tracks and reminds us how fragile life can be.
