The so and so's are out in the layby now scratching their heads wondering what to do😂🤣

To whom it may concern

I run a business on East Road

I received a letter regarding the proposed works on East Road.

The letter expressed that works would be conducted at night. This was acceptable as the next two weeks are two of our busiest of the year an works during the day would disrupt our business considerably.

Imagine my annoyance when one of my staff showed me this photograph of a sign that has been put out on East Road.

The sign shows that in fact works will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm as well as during the night 8pm to 6am.

For goodness sake as if your daft lane restrictions in East Road have not done enough damage to my business. Now you give entirely misleading information.

The work you propose to undertake on the layby near my shop is unlawful as it formed part of an agreement between the council and Mackays made back when East Road was being turned into a duel carriageway. The fact that the council cannot find the correspondence does not mean the agreement to keep that layby open was not made. My father Donald Mackay referred to this agreement on many occasions. There are brass studs in the pavement marking our revised boundary following the land swap. Sadly my father died in 2018 so he is not able to give evidence in court.

I request urgent halt to the proposed works during working hours. I also request halt to all works regarding the layby pending further legal advice being sought.

Your urgent attention would be appreciated.

The letter the Council sent me stated they would be doing the works on East Road at night. Hmm!! This sign that has appeared says something very different!!😡 Right in the middle of one of the busiest trading times of the year.
It is almost as if they were trying to punish Mackays for my complaining about the crazy plans which they pay lip service to CONsulting on🤔

I have just been watching the livestream of the County Council Highways and Transport committee (I know..whatever floats your boat😂🤣) anyway here is a 7 second clip of the Chairman Alex Beckett giving his opinion of the rest of the world. Especially if they don't agree with his opinion.
The County Council are of course in charge of the daft East Road lane experiment (which they plan to extend all along Newmarket Rd🙄).

Don't forget next May the voters of Queen Edith ward have an opportunity to give him their reply😉

I was sent a link to a website that monitors local authority top earners pay. I was looking through it and I spotted this.
Apparently in financial year 22/23 one of our Council employees was paid more than £419,000.
According to the draft accounts for the financial year 23/24 he also received more than £209,000 from the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough combined authority.
Hmmm!! Would this be the very same Steve Cox who refused to come (along with the project manager Vanessa Kelly) to discuss my legitimate concerns about the East Road lane restriction so called 18month experiment (or as I call it East Road magic wand show). I demand a refund🤔😉

Well by my calculation the East Road magic wands experiment was due to end in April 2024. (Having started in November 2022) I can feel another visit over to Alconbury coming on. You never know I may get to meet Vanessa Kelly (grand supremo overlord of the project)

When out on East Road I see so many delivery bikes ignore the rules of the road. They also ignore the laws of good common sense.
Observing one of the operatives misbehaving earlier today. I shouted after him cycling off into the distance I couldn't help but think the deliveroo logo was sending me a message🤔
