One of the question that travel agents (including myself) hear quite often is:
The answer is simple, but it's something that's easy to misunderstand.
Travel prices are LIVE.
When I send you a holiday quote, I'm showing you the price and availability at that particular moment.
Think of it as a snapshot
Flights can increase in price as seats are sold.
Hotel rooms can sell out or move into a different price bracket.
Special offers can end.
Availability can disappear altogether.
All of this happens without any notice, I don't get a heads up it's going to happen, so I can't give you a heads up its going to happen. Unfortunately, I don't have a secret little button marked "keep this price for my client"! I'd love that button- believe me!
So if you receive a quote and want some time to think about it, that's absolutely fine. I completely understand that a holiday is a big purchase and you may want to discuss it, check dates or compare options.
But here's the important bit to remember:
If you come back several days or weeks later, I may need to search again and the price could be higher, lower or the original option could be gone completely. There's nothing I hate more than rechecking a holiday for a client, to find it's sold out, or increased in price.
That's not me changing the price.
It's not me trying to rush you into booking.
It's simply how the travel market works.
My advice?
If you find a holiday you love and the price works for you, don't leave it sitting in your inbox for weeks assuming it will still be there.
And if you need time to think, that's completely okay. Just know that the earlier we confirm, the more likely we are to secure the option you've been quoted.
Because in travel...
