Iโve just returned from the most amazing four-night trip to Ibiza and honestlyโฆ what an absolute gem it was! ๐
Ibiza is so much more than the party island itโs often known for. We experienced a much more chilled, relaxed and authentic side of Ibiza and it was absolutely perfect for a short break.
โ๏ธ AND GETTING THERE COULDNโT HAVE BEEN EASIER!
We flew from Southend Airport, which is literally just down the road from us, and it really was easy peasy!
The airport was such a breeze and with a flight time of just around 2 hours, we were in Ibiza before we knew it.
A huge bonus โ the transfer from Ibiza Airport to the hotel was only around 10 minutes! ๐
So when you put it all together โ an easy airport on our doorstep, a short 2-hour flight and just a 10-minute transfer at the other end โ you really couldnโt ask for an easier journey.
It makes Ibiza such a fantastic option for a 4-night getaway or short break, without feeling like youโve spent half your holiday travelling. To be honest, after four nights I definitely could have stayed much longer! ๐
๐จ THE HOTEL & LOCATION
One of the main reasons we chose our hotel was the location โ and it absolutely did not disappoint.
Itโs technically in Playa dโen Bossa, but right on the edge and actually much closer to Ibiza Town. This meant we had the best of both worlds โ a wonderfully peaceful setting with that lovely old Ibiza feel, but with everything within easy reach.
The views were just incredible. ๐
Waking up in the morning and looking out over the sea towards Ibiza Old Town was pretty specia and the views in the evening were just as beautiful.
There were numerous restaurants within walking distance and you could easily walk into Ibiza Town too.
๐ค One of my favourite things was the water taxi jetty right outside the hotel. For just โฌ10, you could hop on the boat and head around to Ibiza Town. It ran throughout the day from around 10am until 10pm and we actually used it one evening โ such a lovely and easy way to get around!
๐ซ THE ATMOSPHERE
Just to clarify, the hotel is not adults-only, but there were very few children when we stayed.
Iโd definitely describe it as an adult-focused hotel rather than a family hotel. The atmosphere was calm, relaxed and peaceful, so it would be particularly well suited to couples, friends or anyone looking for a more grown-up Ibiza experience without necessarily needing an adults-only property.
There was also an adults-only terrace with a hot tub and Bali beds, all included for guests with no additional charge. โ๏ธ
๐ FORMENTERA
We also took a boat trip over to Formentera, which was another highlight of the trip.
A gorgeous day spent out on the water, exploring and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Definitely something Iโd recommend adding to an Ibiza itinerary.
๐จ THE HOTEL ITSELF
The hotel has actually been welcoming guests since 1974, making it one of the more established hotels on the island, but it was refurbished in 2019 to an extremely high standard.
It was incredibly comfortable, beautifully maintained and had such a relaxed atmosphere.
There were plenty of sun loungers, so no early-morning dash to reserve one! ๐โ๏ธ
Something I particularly loved was that there were no elevated room categories or separate experiences where some guests were treated differently. Everyone was treated exactly the same, which I really liked.
Itโs also an independent, family-run hotel and I think you could really feel that in the atmosphere and the friendly service.
โจ MY VERDICT?
Ibiza is relaxing, beautiful, incredibly easy to get around and absolutely perfect for a short break.
A short flight, a 10-minute transfer, a gorgeous hotel, beautiful views, great restaurants, Ibiza Town on your doorstep and the option to explore further afieldโฆ
Whatโs not to love? ๐
If youโre looking for Ibiza but donโt necessarily want the party scene, there is a whole other side of the island waiting to be discovered.
